The weatherman on my phone has been lying all week. Just says cloud and dry, single figure chance of rain. Well, it's been 'mizzle' each way every day this week. Grotty. Very gloomy on the way home last night so took it steady. Waterproof jacket has a rip on the shoulder, so that's been superglued until I get chance to pop to Decathlon - will probably go tonight to avoid the trick or treaters.

At least your trains work !

To be fair, this is my 3rd week so early days, but all in all the trains have been pretty good. But... having been a train commuter on and off all my working life, i'm under no illusion there's going to be real crap days with them.

No mizzle on the way home. Took it steady, and a slight detour on the way home to avoid the trick or treaters, although had to take it steady near home as our housing estate was full of kids wandering all over the place.

Okay, I was driving to my voluntary 'job' today which is out in the sticks when I noticed a hi viz yellow and a hi viz pink blob about 150 metres ahead of me. They were two cyclists out for a rural jaunt but interesting that I saw their hi viz tops long before I could see their DRLs because of the height of the hedges etc. along the sides of the road.
A point in favour of bright colour tops maybe - ?
When I came close enough to overtake, I had to be very cautious as the leading cyclist wasn't very good a keeping their line and was weaving all over their side of a narrow road. But hey ho eh - !
But a bit further on, along a straight bit of road and it was misty at the time, a runner was coming towards me pushing a 'sports pram'; albeit on his correct side of the road, but he was dressed in grey. Not a great colour choice considering the conditions and his child.

Or higher lights. Perhaps on a flagpole?

I've noticed this too, to the extent that when people wear a lot of Hi-viz I expect them to be less predictable and give them more room. I've speculated it may be because people who just (re) started cycling, and inexperienced riders may feel safer when wearing hi-viz.

WFH today, but expecting a call from Daughter as Northern Fail has cancelled all trains, so I might have to run her into Uni (where I work). So glad I cycle to work, 45 minutes, give or take a couple of minutes, no traffic, no waiting for public transport fails. A ripped tyre only delayed me an hour, and some of that was walking to a bike shop and waiting for it to open.

Yep more Mizzle. today too. Dark grey skies but warm.

The wind switched to a northerly on the way home tonight so I upped the pace to stay warm and as a result I had a few cars sit behind me for a fair bit. I thought one of them could easily overtake on a wide straight road with a few uphills but he never. Another I thought was going to give me abuse but tbh I think it was an impressed/ friendly shout and a decent pass. As a result of speeding up I arrived at the station 10mins early so I took the ramped access to the other platform, its only a 1/2 mile detour 🙄

Still quite mild for time of year, you can tell half term is over here traffic back to normal. Today was numpties back to work day. Rolling down hill towards red very space car over took to sit in the que at a red light the award for pointless prick defo goes to him. Then about two miles from work double decker attempted to push me into the curb on a blind corner then denied it when I tapped on his window to discuss his driving and I can assure you that wasnt over a cup of tea Not sure why the majority of the bad driving I encounter seems to be early mornings would it be better sleep longer and leave later?
