Tales from today's commute....

A very late report but I must have p'tured on Tuesday but Tubeless done its job and I didn't notice until tonight and the tyre which has been solid since I set it up a few weeks back was a bit spongy. The tyre still has its wear holes but it's an old one so I may have to keep an eye on it and replace if necessary.

A bit of a pea souper on route to the station. That didn't stop the BMW driver wanting to overtake on the wrong side of the road at a blind bend when I had stopped at the red light. He did give me plenty of room though which hopefully means I was pretty visible despite the pea souper.

On the way into the city today, whilst cycling over Fye Bridge; one of several historic bridges in Norwich, saw a lass and her teenage son each about to drop a leaf into the water below.
Subsequent conversation with them confirmed my suspicions; there not being any handy sticks available, they were playing Pooh Leaves instead - ! ^_^
Good to see eh - ? :okay:

Plenty of leaves around today! Lots on the bike paths, the roads are being cleaned of them.
Missed all the rain so a pleasant and surprisingly warm ride in.
Yep, a huge amount on the ground at the moment. Councils haven't caught up yet but it's a never ending task this time of the year. I'm being especially careful as now I'm commuting on a 20" folder.
It's going to be dark for the ride home - although WFH today !
Yep, Hate this time of year for commuting to be honest. Roll on the spring.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Very warm this morning but still dark for me when i went to work .
Coming home it was very light drizzle but not enough to worry about a coat and i even had the legs on show as its warm
Muddy roads from farmers harvesting has made my bright yellow bike a bit brownish ....

After a month of solid darkness on route to the Station it was the street lights going of half way again. I think I prefer going through town when its pitch dark. Tonight will be solid darkness through the rural part, I think I'd prefer that in the light and being able to see the twists, downhills, potholes etc. Who's idea was this daylight saving business 😐

not sure how long this mild weather will last, lovely ride in this morning, took it easy for once as legs ached on way home last night had managed 60miles over the weekend, plus 20 yesterday so must have earned an easy day off. Cycling all week this week as well as want to make the most of the mild weather we all know whats coming just a question of when and how bad.

have to agree seems pretty pointless when rest of europe doesnt bother, but then we are not part of the eu anymore

Very mild this morning. Temps showing 13°. And looks like its going to be even warmer for the return.
This is part of my daily commute now. A nice, relaxing 40 minute train journey before the 8.5 miles to work. I don't need to fold the bike as the train is never that busy in the mornings as it's the slower stopping service. But makes for a comfy foot rest.

Grim last night dark and heavy drizzle. Not as bad as it could be because at least it's warm.
This morning lots of puddles and leaf mush. Not a clean combination.

Back on it this morning. Certainly warm so didn't bother with waterproofs when, half way through the journey, I hit a patch of heavy drizzle. Rather damp on getting to work, but the drying cabinet was full - had to shift people's kit over as they spread one or two garments over the entire shelf, rather than putting them in neatly. The usb fan is on drying the top of my winter boots out.

Oh and ceramic wax lube, whilst being lovely and clean in use, and feels quite smooth, all vanished with a little bit of moisture. Back on the wet lube (I had to oil the chain on arrival).

Dry and almost crisp in here. Had an interesting "interaction" with a pedestrian in the shared path near work. The path is just about wide enough for a cyclist to pass each other. I saw a pedestrian walking towards me in the middle of the path engrossed looking at his phone, so I said good morning a bit loud, which had no effect . I started slowing down and said morning again louder but he was still oblivious. I had almost come to a stop at the edge of the path when he finally realised he was about to walk into me, he moved sidewise about 10cm an continued his oblivious perambulation without even acknowledging me .
