Wet in, dry home. I say dry as in not raining but the puddles were huge, one on the Roe green loop was ankle deep and 20 meters long, my whole bottom bracket was underwater I am sure. Is that bad?

Dry home last night, but it must have rained hard overnight. Rain stopped about 3 miles into my ride, but everywhere was soaked - loads of large puddles, and the Floop was flooded again near the A6 - the council have done some remedial works, but there must have been so much rain last night that it was axel deep this morning.

Had a job avoiding the odd dog walker that couldn't decide how to walk through puddles, so dog one side on extending lead, owner other side. One chap had seen me but could not decide what he was doing. Must have heard me mumble 'oh hurry up' as I approached. A fair few cyclists were doing 'dodge the puddles' and not listening to my bell, so I had to shout 'passing on right' about 3 times.

Bumped into a colleague as I left the cycle parking, it had taken her over an hour to do about 5 miles. She'd lost the will by the time she was at work.

I seem to spend most of the year wearing these.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Yeah, that must suck

Mornings are now a toss-up between on-bike lights and not, depending on the conditions. I've had a few rides home recently with just the on-bike lights to maintain visibility; sometimes I still need the head torch to see where I'm going, while it serves an auxiliary purpose when I get home and have to rummage in a dark boot to liberate the bike and bag.

The journey home today was mercifully dry, if littered with perhaps more dickheads than the journey in

Very happy to now be alone in a quiet, darkened house with no obligatory human interactions planned for the forseeable. Very much looking forward to a hot bath and bed.

Missed the rain this morning, i leave the house at 4.15 am so its still properly dark .Only half shift today so just got in and the roads were flooded in lots of places from rain earlier on .
Test rode the new build and its twitchy so i know i need to change the stem and height of the bars plus the old saddle i have on is a killer as the stitching is raised and hard so its going in the bin .

Mostly dry (if you ignore the state of the roads) with just a short sharp shower on the way in, but the return leg is looking to be somewhat soggy at the moment.

Crikey, that must take some effort to get out of bed in the winter!

Good work with the new one; worth slinging the reject saddle on here as it might do someone a good turn..?

late shift i leave the house at 1.35 pm and it can be about 1-1.30 am before i get back

I guess that gets you a bit of daylight and sidesteps the rush hour traffic

It was silly rain at 16:30, checked the Met Office weather map and saw it was clearing by about 18:00 but I had a chance of some lighter rain if I hung around a while. That worked out- it was still quite heavy but not as bad, and it got lighter as I rode home. My main route home was closed but I went through figuring I could get through- which I could- but drivers were getting through too, even though the barriers extended across both carriageways (on the footway/ verge)- still, dissuaded most so it was quiet and I could ride on the dryer bit mostly.

Yesterdays commute was pretty horrific in both directions. Both the morning and evening commutes blighted with cold rain and winds. It didn't stop raining all day so there were a lot of flooded roads not nice.

Today however, beautiful blue sky sunshine and dry. Though a little cold. Got the winter jacket and gloves back out of the cupboard.

Rainy commutes #9 & 10 for the year
Same period last year 8 rainy commutes
