Tales from today's commute....

I enjoyed the commute today, even tonight. In the morning I had a good strong tailwind to the station which meant I caught the early train, which was a good thing as my usual train was cancelled. That meant headwind at the far end (my windsock says 83%, but surprisingly given the earlier tailwind it never felt too bad). The PM was a bit driech to to the station but not the torrential forecasted that was saved for the other end but the short 20mins (4 miles) wasn't long enough to get wet so it remained enjoyable :-)

Light rain on the ride home, nothing to shout about, other than it wasn't 'dark'. Commute this morning, damp under tyre, but nothing falling from the sky. Proper sweaty on arrival, so it must be warming up !

It is warming up Fossy.
Like yer filthy norvern Englandshire.. glorious London was damp under tyre but very mild. No leg warmers or jacket needed.
Weather forecast is saying dry for rest of week too.

Just remembered my encounter with a young muntjac last night as I cycled home round the back of Tytherington quarry!

I thought it was a fox cub at first but no.

Had a nice night with a few mates in the pub last night; the temperature rose as the evening wore on and was quite comfortable for the ride home - even causing me to have to stop and remove some bits once warmed up.

Despite a little rain the ride home was really pleasant on account of the temperature and various nice interactions I'd had with people earlier

This morning I had to bring the car but the journey was fine thanks to the lack of school traffic - 33 minutes on a direct route today as opposed to about 1.5 time as long / far the last time under "normal" circumstances... thanks evidently to the many parents who couldn't possibly let their kids walk / ride / get the bus to school

It was a pretty wet morning and I appreciated the opportunity to wear some more presentable clothes / not spend the day a stinking mess; however using the car feels decidely lacklustre and there does seem to be a bike-shaped hole in the day..
