Tales from today's commute....

I went a wee bit harder to get the train that was still running (bl00dy strikes) instead of waiting 45mins in the pouring rain. I like the earlier train as it leaves London just before the peak and St Evanage is its first stop and it doesnt stop too often so it isn't rammed. Tonight it was even less rammed and a group of kids all got off who had been in the seats that are also bike racks 👍

The forecast was right within 15minutes it looked very wild out the train windows. When I got of the train it was still torrential but at least the wind had dropped so I was only 18mins to home.

Then I decided to make my self wet again but at least it was warm ;-)

Pretty heavy rain and a significant headwind throughout. Saving grace was the mild temperature as it would have been bloody horrible otherwise. Unpleasant but I'm still alive. Minimal endorphine reward despite the sustained effort and adversity overcome.

Glad to be in bed.

Missed the rain on the way home, and it was just above freezing this morning, so no change of wheels needed. That 'may' be different for Thursday. Will probably switch to Ice tyres for tomorrow's commute to a hotel, as I'm away overnight (Thursday) and 'if' the weather changes I'll be stuck without ice tyres.

So from shorts and long sleeve jersey yesterday, back to longs and jacket today. It rained quite heavy last night but thankfully cleared off before this mornings cycle commute.
As what @palinurus has said. Noticeably lighter evenings. I leave for home at 4.30 so now leaving in daylight as apposed to a couple of weeks ago in the dark.

ffs, thanks to the discovery of damage to the bike's rear tyre this morning I had to take the car all the way. Not at all pleasant but tolerable as an isolated case. Has hardly done my mental health any good however and served as an unwelcome and unnecessary reminder of why I use the bike

Too cold, so HandleBar mitts back on today - an absolute godsend if you've got Raynaud's Syndrome.

Does this mean it won't be icy tomorrow?

Doesn't get down to zero overnight or anytime but snow warning🤔

Yellow snow warning eh... beware of 'yellow snow'... 🐕

Ours is a dehydrated 'amber' colour, apparently.

Forecast looks like the worse will happen after my commute to a hotel, and possibly clear by the time I come home on Friday evening. Ice wheels fitted anyway.
