Added a buff and the medium-thick gloves, quite fine once I'd got past the first mile. Pick a lower gear and spin a bit harder to maintain core temps and reduce wind-chill. Not actually freezing, and the sunshine a welcome bonus.

Think it was around 2° this morning was slightly frosted over, like you say supposedly getting down into the minuses soon thermal socks will be coming out!

OK I just got home two more beers in the village.
very cold ride home.
I forgot how dodgy it is on a bike after a few beers.
luckily I live in the middle of nowhere and didn't encounter any vehicles.
it's not big and it's not clever, just don't do it.

At least with the Ice Tyres I could cross 'the bog of doom' on the last mile home. It's inches deep in slippy mud about 50m long. I left a trail of mud the rest of the way home as it all flung off the tyres.

Just not passable on the slick tyres at this time of year, so have to push the bike up a steep diversion.
