Wow. I come to the page and it is all glum. Generally, get well soon everyone. It's my first ride for a fortnight so maybe I'll start harvesting the badness that is doing the rounds, and dump it somewhere.
I'm going to come out as it's such a nice day. Not feeling great having been laid up with lurgy but hopefully a bit of fresh air and exercise will do me good.

Sure you don't want to come along Clive? If we go OV, you can be home by 1?

leaving now so if I come your way then I maybe a touch late. I am going to make a decision when i get to the end of my road so dont wait for me.

Does look like a nice day

i took a really gentle ride out to Eynsford and back, just 35 miles of taking in the scenery and loosing the legs after yesterdays ride. Made it home nice and early to score some points with the missus. The weather was a little interesting. Was both very sunny, very windy and at one point the temp went down to 4 degrees.

Hope you all have had a good weekend !

Well that was a really nice ride out. Some bits of London I'd never seen before and others that used to be my old stamping ground around Hampstead/Belsize Park (passed my old local pub, the Washington). Great day out, great company although my legs are now like jelly.

Bloody cold North East wind to start, which helpfully (not) was in my face out of town. The day did not make friends with cyclists, despite the brightness. However, it was nice to get out on the bike. Has anyone seen those rucksack covers that have the word 'Hump' written upon them? (Apart from Stu's which has the word 'Humungous' preceeding...) Well, we saw an animal (admittedly difficult to spot ) that didn't have a fluorescent cover. Did I say it was weather to make an ice cream feel warm?
Yes, nice innocent ride - no expectations, but it was nice to see whatever turned up in our path (En route to Parliament Hill Fields it was mostly f ing potholes and appalling road surfaces) and, when the sun deigned to glow, it was warm. Alas, it was like my memory - patchy at best.
And I'm sure Dave would like to say a big thank you to the young lady who was keen to point out to him the niceties of men and goats in a loving relationship. I hope you got a photo otherwise my post is going to sound bizarre. (First time for everything I suppose )
:cold: A day for tea, chips and comfort - not for dawdling. Thanks all.

What fun that was! I dug my way through the roadworks at HPC to find Martin235 sitting in the sunshine. The Horseguards came and went, followed by 'Teef who stayed! The day gets better! And I was able to berate him for the amount of times I've nearly destroyed my keyboard laughing out loud at his Cycle Chat!

We made our way to the P stop in HPC (that is what the P is for isnt it?) where we found ourselves being chased down by one Cat-of-the-Highest-Order! We were now a Party of Four. As neither of the Sunday London Ride Founders were with us and we had no Eastward pulling pumpkins, we headed............ North!

What a treat! 'Teeth led us down to Trafalgar Square, up Charing Cross Road all the way to Hampstead Heath and Parliament Hill (although not necessarily in that order!). We rode past beautiful houses up and down wide, tree-lined streets, really off the beaten track. It was really lovely and if we can find a way of repeating this and still stop Pumpkinitis from forming in SE London, it would be fantastic. (Can't you just pedal southwards faster Messrs MistaPreston, Arallsopp and ianrauk?!!)

Back down to a near-lap of Regents Park, a wave to the Giraffes and we cycled past an out-door photo exhibition. At the Cafe in the Park we stopped for teas, cake and a bacon roll (hungry cat alert!). Cheers to you 'Teef!

We sat in the sunshine but even though the sky was blue the air was definitely much colder than it looked - the wind chill factor was really making a difference. Martin235 commented that he couldn't understand it but since he has been cycling with ianrauk he is much more aware of how clean his bike is! "A dirty Bicycle?" I asked "What's that?"!! (Mine had been cleaned already!). We finished the lap of Regents Park and went on to Marble Arch where 'Teef headed West, Martin235 headed East and Topcat1 and I headed South.

A Brilltime! Thanks Chaps!

As this Sunday London Ride founder is still laid up with a bloody sore knee...(I actually cleaned the bike yesterday in the hope that I could have joined you all).. I cocked one eye at the lovely blue sky that was to be seen this morning thinking that sore knees are crap really.

The other Sunday London Ride founder that is known as 'he who must be home at Pumpkin hour' decided that a quick Kent blast was better for his stomach as the food would have been that little less burnt upon his return from there then from London. It's a good thing there isn't a family pet dog.

I am away next weekend on business in different climes.. but should be out the week after, all well and good.

Tough stuff Ian. Did you get a definite diagnosis? Have you looked up Patellar Tendinitis - that's my particular 'usual' problem. Makes stairs just a touch tricky but I found the quickest cure was to get back on and not stress the knee.
Sorry for your loss...later ^_^ Talking of 'Loss' I thought he was going to come out and play...or was that a Chinese Whisper?
And I did try to explain the original Sunday London Ride to Minnie, but...
You were soreknee missed. Mine was great. Iced. But great.:cold: Poxy cold weather. Actually, it's a good thing Clive didn't show up - he would have needed more layers than a shed full of battery hens.

Take your time with it Ian, I think my keenness to return to riding last year contributed to the much longer lay off!

I did Rye and back with avanti, small crash on the way down, big bonk on the way back. hideous
