Morning Clivelayers; I went out at 7am today and I have never been colder...and came back in after a very short tour. The orange sun was beautiful in the sky, bringing the day into focus - but by that time I was colder than an unloved Garmin. It was f***f***f****** cold. I maybe have a different tolerance to cold than you (although nothing as macho as the 'Nelson Icepop' ) so beware. A double buff is recommended (oh, hang on - that's your Summerwear) as my face was hurting after a couple of minutes (no smart jokes - I know it always 'aches' ). Tote a hot water bottle too.
Anyway, think carefully - the clarity of the day is worth the pain of the cold, but not the slipping.

I've just been checking various forecasts, and there's also the prospect of sleet before 9.00am, so I'm doubtful. Fen Lane is likely to be all ice tomorrow, so could be nasty.

It's supposedly going to be warmer tomorrow +4 in the morning so I am still going to go ahead.
But will make final decision tomorrow morning.

If you think Fen lane is going to be icy we can always hit south at Ockenden down to Grays. The main roads will all be fine. So let's just see how we go.

Just been out for a quick lap and a half of Richmond Park. No ice or anything on the roads and it is a lovely day - bitterly cold though. Top tip: if you forget to put gloves on and only have liner gloves, go back and get proper gloves... don't think it will be ok - because it won't


Oh yeah - small victory for me Today... managed to climb Sawyers Hill (the long drag not the steep one) in the big ring! Not much to crow about for most folk I know, but satisfying nonetheless...
