Ahh that were lovely today!
I spotted Mr Allsopp at Wellington Arch and we chatted quite merrily and at the litter chap who had to tell at least 50 people that yes, that is the way to Buckingham Palace.
About 30 minutes later TopCat turned on his beautiful white bike. But where was User? He was nowhere to be seen.
TopCat said that he was destroyed by Sig in Essex and we agreed to gravitate towards Greenwich by a combination of Route 2 and 22.
To say that I confused them both with my route was apparent as early as Bermondsea. 'But there is that large road over there that I normally traverse on - oh, I am now turning right into this tiny road'. Barry Mason first introduced me to this route and its always fun passing along the delights of 2 and 22.
Andy and I said goodbye to TopCat at Greenwich and we cycled the A21 down to Chez Allsopp, the headwind was a struggle and on Bromley Hill Andy said that he would 'scoot off' and wait for me at the top of the hill. I was quite relieved by this and after staring at the macadam for 5 seconds, looked up to see that he disapparated.
I was very kindly invited by the Allsopp's to meet the rest of the Allsopp family at the pub in Keston which was fab. The walk from chez Allsopp to the pub in Keston was rather fun, as Andy laid on some revenge for taking him our nutty route earlier. We had two GPS units with us and we still managed to get lost and back at the original rugby field.
After a fulsome lunch we got back to Chez Allsopp and after a cup of tea and a great natter with Evey it was time to headback towards Lewisham parts. Andy kindly led me back onto the A21 and the fantastic tailwind ensured that it was mere minutes between saying goodbye to Mr Allsopp and arriving back in Catford.
What a great Sunday that was - onwards the 3 Amigos!
