a cpl summers ago I got a big splinter due to not wearing gloves & stupidly caressing pressure treated lumber before cutting it. the splinter went in 1 side of my pincky finger & came out the other side. no colleague wanted to touch it, so off to the ER. the doc numbed the finger. used a scalpel to widen the entrance hole, then forceps to back it out the way it went in. maybe that logic can be used & a bunch of tug boats can pull from the stern?

The plan to refloat it was to send a bigger ship in at full pelt to create a large bow wave which would refloat the stranded vessel.
He said it was a bit hairy because it's a dead end, and they only just managed to slow the ship/turn it to one side before it too crashed into land.
wow, talk about cajones!

In the days before sky-high stacked containers I think they would have transferred enough of the cargo to another ship alongside so it became lighter and easier to free. Can you do that on this scale ,in this place without shore side cranes?
They are all bolted together and need special cranes to do it quickly. The process relies on everything being perfectly lined up in parallel.

A ship load of ballons and another one full of helium could be on their way at this very moment! Oh, wait, there's a blockage.

Can’t they fill it with helium and float it away?

There has been a lot of talk about some massive backlog at Felexstowe. Not sure if that is still the case - but if so maybe a chance for that to get up to date.

I think we at CycleChat can do better, be better than this. If we can fix someones dodgy transmission issues remotely, then refloating a boat should be easy.
The call for ideas is out.

Come back Trump, he would fix it, quick nuclear strike, would even have to interrupt his game of golf. ;)
