Can't spell, Can't Punctuate....Sue Me
There have been a FEW, and even those cannot reasonably be described as either "bile" or "hatred". I've just looked back over the last 6 pages, to see if I was missing something, and only found about 4-5 posts which could be described as anti-monarchy, all by one poster.

agree to disagree....tis not the thread as far as im concerned.

Words like "Sycophancy" and "Adulation" don't help. I think for the great majority of posters with positive views of the Queen it's more likely to be well founded respect. We live in an age of skepticism. As often happens, the 24 hour media coverage can be saccharine but there have been some good information pieces too. Like it or not, this is a bona fide historical event that actually will be remembered for years to come. In this age of streaming and alternative entertainments surely it is not beyond the wit of man to turn it off when it gets too much or if you find it totally offensive to your beliefs. There are bound to be a range of opinions but a degree of tolerance is in order.

I'm not fond of football but you don't see me posting negative stuff when some big game swamps the media and that happens several times a year, not once in a lifetime.

That may depend how many dozens are on the viewer's cancel/ignore list.

Fill yer boots if you want to discuss the politics around the monarchy here… https://naca.cyclechat.net/
Is that still going? Is there a hidden bit of that site where the monarchy politics is being discussed? Mostly I found one poster swearing a lot and calling people childish names across multiple threads. It's difficult to find much current discussion in that sea of bile.

Look above at the picture of a mother and daughter. That is not about stating your condolences, it's about presenting a story about collective grief. I've seen loads of similar pro grief and monarchy posts. If you you don't want posts that's not in keeping with a forum condolence book then fine by me. Let the mods delete every thread except ones offering condolences. It'll be a short thread and a lot by those complaining about anti monarchy posts will have rather a lot culled too.

This thread has been a place to post things that would only happen because of the queen's death. Whether monarchist or republican in nature. Changing that was always like trying to stop the tide coming in. And we're all guilty of making this thread so.

Put bluntly. If you don't like anti monarchy posts don't post pro monarchy posts. We're a contrary lot on here and like balance in discussions and threads. Even to the extent of arguing for 42 odd pages!

Isn't that the princess of Wales, rather than the girl's mum?

No idea. Last Princess of Wales I could identify was called Diana and died years ago. If it had been the queen's children I'd have stood a chance at recognition. Sorry, they're not that important to me, like the Kardashians and other celebrities people occasionally try to talk to me about.

Rather worrying that a brief news clip just popped on my work laptop that someone who mocked the queen has been given a two year sentence! Is this real does anyone know? If so we are in Police State territory now.

Can't be true. What news sites are you visiting for it to pop up?

I've been trying to block a lot of dodgy sites that come up on the news aggregation sources like bing or Google news. Sick of seeing batches of pro Unionist media outlets then batches off Pro Republican media outlets the next day. Pure propaganda and bias worse than any other outlet but impossible to stop.

This is exactly how fake news and disinformation is amplified.

Something outrageous is posted. People click on it because it's outrageous. News aggregation sites are driven by how much traffic a story has generated, so it gets to the top of their feeds. That drives more traffic.

Use reputable news sources directly, not ever facebook, news aggregation sites, or the clickbait rubbish that comes up in adverts. It's a spiral of despair.

I've no clue it is on a work computer. I do not watch or listen to any news if can help it. No TV etc. It caught my eye when I knocked the mouse and it moved the cursor over an icon I don't use because it has news feeds on it.
