That last line is interesting; is Andrew getting the corgis because of his grooming experience?

True, but the tone was very critical, while hardly any of what they were criticising was actually true.
About the only bit I couldn't vouch for is the dealers offering discounts on drugs. Everything else is pretty well attested, including the bees being told of the Queen's death.

In theory, Harper's magazine is not a satirical publication, but you wouldn't have guessed from that article

Hardly any of it is true.

Since many of the clickbait style statements have footnote numbers it would have been interesting to see how much the further information diminished or supported them. Some may be based on virtually nothing while a few will have more to them. A lot of padding and puffery for the most part, I suspect. A space filler for Harpers.

The Harpers link leads to this, amongst other nuggets.

The queue is an interesting thing.

It runs along the South Bank from Bermondsey to Westminster. It's largely a straight -ish line, and it's not wide, from what I've seen just one or two people wide.

But why? Wouldn't it be better to use the space in, say Green Park and The Mall and thereabouts and make a snakey switchback queue. You could concentrate facilities like portaloos and avoid disruption.

There's probably a good reason, people have thought about this. Just wondering why have a queue like that. Security perhaps?

I read a couple of articles two or three days ago which were predicting (had a slight feeling with a certain glee) that the queue would turn into a human disaster/thing of national shame - fortunately doesn't seem to have happenned - seems to have been well organised (way in advance of course) and folks seem to be being very patient/enjoying it for various reasons. I think an essential line was the right decision, and there are some zig zag bits for the concentration of services.
One of those articles suggested that the lying in state should have been at the NEC!
Home of trade shows/caravan shows.
s/he probably thought that very clever.
