Operation Unicorn was put in place, for the return of her body from Scotland to London. Once in London, Operation London Bridge would have taken over.

That would have sounded much better if you had said Operation London Bridge had swung into operation

I am watching The Longest Reign now. Pretty good.

I've just watched that as they repeated it again this evening. It was a very good watch. A good documentary (of any kind) ticks the boxes here chez Casa Reynard.

"When the Queen Spoke to the Nation" is also worth watching as well. It actually ties in with the whole palaver with Ted Heath over the Christmas broadcast.

In that one, I noticed how carefully the staging is selected. In the 2014 Christmas message, there are photos of King George V and Queen Mary on the desk, as well as one of those brass tins containing chocolate and tobacco that every soldier received as a gift from the queen that first wartime Christmas.

I also heard that the Queen's hands were bruised due to a cannula being inserted, then taken out for her what was to be last ever photograph.

Those who say she lived an easy privileged life should take note that she got off her what was to be deathbed, to perform what she saw as her lifelong duty to serve her country till the very end! 🇬🇧 🧐

Unfortunately they will. I manage a team of 30 and have already had several messages asking what will happen, and today isn’t even a working day.

I struggle to take the leave I already get so couldn’t give a flying budgerigar* about it.

*replace with any word of your choice 😂

Update: This morning I have been asked by 75% of my team about them ‘losing’ a public holiday and what will be done about it.

A rather depressing state of affairs if you ask me. I personally thought I would see better value in those in the public sector.

Must admit, i find it a bit depressing when once the announcement was made of her death, the first thing on many peoples lips was...will we get a bank holiday ?
We didn't for the Queens Jubilee and i suspect we won't get one for the funeral, heyho, i don't make the rules.

There's no statutory right to time off on a 'normal' bank holiday. They have the day off anyway, what's the difference? I guess they won't be able to do whatever they might have normally planned to do because the country will be shut down for the day.
