On the subject of road / rail / aeroplane transfer of the coffin from Edinburgh to London on a ‘green’ basis.

I’ve been intermittently following the cortege today on the news and, aside from the motorcycle outrider and the five or six other vehicles that were shown (I’ve no doubt others were used but out of shot), there is obviously at least one helicopter following things and relaying back video.

Its evident, from Flight Radar, there are actually three helicopters following it, certainly as it nears Edinburgh. Video footage for other broadcasters?

If this model was followed for the road, or rail, transfer to London, aeroplane may actually be the green option with all things considered.

I suppose they could have used an EV Hearse and sat at various motorway service stations whilst recharging it.

I’ve not suggested that.

If you have read the thread you should have seen earlier discussions by some around the use of an aeroplane vs the Royal train to move the coffin to London, with some saying that the latter would be better from an environmental perspective.

They should have stuck with Operation Unicorn, for the return of the body to London. She at least had some input into this, and how she wanted her funeral to be handled.

Overriding something she had some say in, isn't respecting her wishes.

Just an observational post here of the double standards of this forum, there was another post discussing the Royal Family, and somebody suggested it should be in NACA, and it was subsequently locked.
So my question is is why is this post still here.
Don't take this as a request to move it, I am happy for it to be here as I was with the locked post, just bemused by the rules.

I will be very surprised if the minders lock this thread on the death of the Queen in this wider forum.

Would a unicorn have been able to pull a hearse all the way to London in time?

More seriously, what was the unicorn plan?

Operation Unicorn was put in place, for the return of her body from Scotland to London. Once in London, Operation London Bridge would have taken over.
