I suppose our National Anthem will now be changed to "God Save The King" and other changed words. It will seem odd for quite a while to hear it at football matches etc. I think it might be Last Night Of The Proms this coming Saturday. If so it'll be the first time we'll hear it at a prestigious event.🤔

No change for proper Lancastrians.
Edit: minor changes to pronouns.

It's very sad news, but not unusual for a 96 year old lady to pass away, all this canceling of events and over the top coverage is too much, she has been an excellent sovereign but would she have wanted all this fuss.
There are people dying everyday in Ukraine some of them may have made 96 if Putin had any sense, there are people here in the UK who can't afford to heat there homes this coming winter and as a consequence may not reach 96, let's celebrate the Queens life rather than mourn her death and recognise that life needs to carry on as normal.

they gave wall to wall coverage when Philip died... did you expect anything different when the actual monarch did?

Very well put.

On the bright side, whilst I wouldn't celebrate any deaths at least Ukraine do appear to be giving the Russians an absolute pasting.

And Diana, think it was either Laser 558 or Atlantic 252 that seemed to be the only English radio that was not in mourning. Seems that normal programming has largely returned if you look beyond BBC1 and ITV1. Edit: must have been Atlantic 252 as Laser 558 had ceased broadcasting by then.

Atlantic 252 wasn't an English radio station, it was based in County Meath, Ireland.
