Maybe I'm getting old and old-fashioned with it, but the talk of Boris, Coins, Dogs and whinging about widespread coverage on radio stations seems really out of place and disrespectful within this thread.

Still, I guess that's free speech for you.

I've just heard that Last Night Of The Proms has been cancelled. Not just by the BBC, but cancelled altogether. All Premier and Football League matches are also cancelled.

Yes, that's what was said before ref the Proms.
Cancelling out of respect to QEII aside, a full orchestra and multiple choirs can't just rework, rearrange and rehearse their whole programme within 48 hours (even if they might have played/sung some of the tunes before!)

Have you watched/listened to the full 2022 Proms programme up to now...if not, you can probably fill your Saturday eve void with some catch up of all the concerts you may have missed over the last month :okay:

Surely yon BBC must've refused to show/broadcast all the other Proms events if they binned the grande finale?🤔

 they’ve cancelled tonight…all the others have already happened before the Queen passed away so there was no reason to cancel

The first night was 15 July

I was just wondering if they will make a statue to honour what she has done ?

Just writing this has brought tears to my eyes.

There will be a statue on 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square - this is one of the worst kept royal secrets. It's why for the last couple of decades nothing has been mentioned in the media about its intended purpose other than temporary installations keeping it occupied. It was being kept quiet but everybody knew.

Like the blank gravestone in my local cemetery. It was unmarked for years, then eventually a name and other details were engraved on. How spooky is that eh! The occupier must've looked at the blank stone for years, wondering when his/her name would be added.

There is a house I ride past in Cheshire (actually it might just be over the border in Wales) that has about a dozen huge sculptures of the Queens head. He has been planning this for years !

Not that well known is that all stamps were in any case going to be replaced next year with ones featuring a bar code. Any existing normal stamps will replaced free by the Post Office https://www.royalmail.com/sending/barcoded-stamps

Still have her outline on the new barcoded ones. I have 100 of them bought end of July. The new bar codes ones have already replaced them. It just that the old stamps are still valid till next year.
