Removing scratches from clear polycarbonate. Any ideas?

Toothpaste!:okay:
My previous employer used to make the best film camera lenses in the world. Our lenses were polished for anything up to a week using a very fine grinding paste. The same paste the toothpaste companies bought and added flavourings to. Just saying.

If you do fix your visor then I do suggest you get some protective films to prevent it being damaged again.

Thank you @The Velvet Curtain. Don't the protective films make them less clear? If you are nipping down the stone lined lanes of the Isle of Man at 180mph, I can see that fine details might not matter through your visor, but I need to read a vernier through mine.

Won't the toothbrush scratch the visor ^_^
I used a cotton wool pad that I found in the bathroom cupboard. I think they are used by Ms slowmotion to remove make-up or something The toothpaste seemed to leave a slight fog on the polycarbonate that I couldn't wash it off with anything, so I went back to brass polish.

It's less than ideal.
