Similar sort of thing in most offices, regular weekly fire alarm tests.

Then one week in the office I worked in when I was with BT, they decided to have an unannounced fire drill at that time. Then they complained it took around 3 minutes longer than usual to evacuate the building.

Many years ago l worked for a company that made and installed fire protection equipment including alarms. 30 of us in a hotel conference room gabbing on about fires and what not and the fire alarm goes off.
A brief pause...... and ......we just sat there staring at one another.
It was a false alarm as it happens. Which is just as well.

I keep getting an old chip pan oil smell in my kitchen. I made a slow cooker concoction the other night, using a spoonful of best before January 2018 vegetable oil. Yes, I know it's 5 years out of date, but I thought 100% oil had/was a natural self preserver, providing it hasn't been recycled, as in used then used again. 🤔

We were selling at a Trade Show near Edinburgh when the fire alarm went off. PA said “ All members of the public leave the hall”. All exhibitors looked at each other and said we are not members of the public so stayed put until PA got more forceful and “ everyone leave the hall immediately due to a fire in the Ladies Toilets” The story continues.
When we returned to our stand some very specific items were all missing.
We concluded that a very forceful woman who wanted to be our sole agent in Ireland and wanted a load of free samples had set fire to the toilets and in the confusion pinched the items. She had no record of selling and no documentation so we had refused to give her any samples. All the Ireland related items had vanished from our stand after the fire had been extinguished.Did she or did she not?

What flower/emblem is this? I bought the tie in a charity shop the other day. I wonder what the red triangle means? 🤔
