Why does this happen? I've noticed over the last few years that my when I wash up, the mugs and glasses I place near the edge of the draining bit of my sink suck up water. 🤔

It sounds like you may have a small leak in your sink that is causing the water to be able to reach the mugs and glasses near the edge. I recommend having a plumber come in and check it out to make sure no further damage is done.

Why have 'they' stopped putting plastic lids on large yoghurt pots?
You buy one large enough to last you 4+ days but there is no way to seal it. I end up wrapping tin foil around it.

They seem to be missing from the cheap pots but still on the more expensive ones, one option would be to take a lid from an expensive pot and place it on the cheaper pot that you're buying, obviously I wouldn't do that. 😉

I noticed that one brand was offering to sell buyers a reusable lid, but I like the idea of simply retaining one of the old ones.

Why do so many in their 20's and 30's think they have a right to park on double yellow lines, zig zags at pedestrian crossings and disabled parking bays? Today I saw one parked on zig zags outside a pub. Later, on a supermarket car park I struggled to find a disabled parking spot. As I got out my car I looked at the vehicles parked in the disabled bays and I'd say 70% weren't displaying a blue badge. Then looking out my window a few minutes ago I saw 4 cars on the double yellows outside my flat. No doubt they are owned by those going in the pub round the corner. How do I know the owners of these vehicles are in their 20's and 30's you may ask. Well, I sit and watch and see them get back in their cars. When I was younger I wouldn't dream of or dare park illegally! Why do they think they have a right to do so?!!

That's car drivers in general in my opinion.

Your opinion has about as much relation to fact as the opinion some drivers have that all cyclists spend most of their time jumping red lights and riding on the pavements.

Drivers are people, just like cyclists are. Many of us are both drivers and cyclists. We don't become angels as soon as we get on a bike, or devils as soon as e get behind the wheel.

It's quite simple, there are no Traffic Wardens, the council may send out parking enforcement staff, but they are mainly in town centres, the Police are down on numbers and quite probably busy dealing with a stack of jobs as best they can, parking transgressions are very much at the bottom of the list, therefore these drivers can park where they like, drive appallingly and know the chances of being penalised are slim to nil, so they just carry on safe in the knowledge they won't get fined

Tell that to my bank account after my parking ticket didn't go through properly last week. My own fault for not checking the receipt of course, Sheffield enforcement out doing God's work.

Why do ballet companies get their dancers to stand on tiptoes? Wouldn't it be easier to just hire taller dancers in the first place?

Ballet companies prioritize body line and stability when looking for dancers, and standing on tiptoes helps enhance these features. Dancers can also maintain better form and posture when standing on their tiptoes. Additionally, standing on tiptoes provides more agility and helps the dancer move in more complex ways.
