It's quite simple, there are no Traffic Wardens, the council may send out parking enforcement staff, but they are mainly in town centres, the Police are down on numbers and quite probably busy dealing with a stack of jobs as best they can, parking transgressions are very much at the bottom of the list, therefore these drivers can park where they like, drive appallingly and know the chances of being penalised are slim to nil, so they just carry on safe in the knowledge they won't get fined

Yes, I get that as they say, but my point was why would they want to do it when they don't have to. When I was in my 20's, 30's even late 50's I'd never dream of parking in a disabled bay or on zig zigs! It's just not the right thing to do, regardless of whether you might get a ticket or not. I think it's a sense of self entitlement, poor education and falling standards in society.

The can be said for many things in modern society. I 'have' to drive everywhere, I 'have' to have this that or the other because I want it and that's it. Modern society is firmly in 'I'm alright Jack, screw everyone else' territory now.

Why do so many in their 20's and 30's think they have a right to park on double yellow lines, zig zags at pedestrian crossings and disabled parking bays? Today I saw one parked on zig zags outside a pub. Later, on a supermarket car park I struggled to find a disabled parking spot. As I got out my car I looked at the vehicles parked in the disabled bays and I'd say 70% weren't displaying a blue badge. Then looking out my window a few minutes ago I saw 4 cars on the double yellows outside my flat. No doubt they are owned by those going in the pub round the corner. How do I know the owners of these vehicles are in their 20's and 30's you may ask. Well, I sit and watch and see them get back in their cars. When I was younger I wouldn't dream of or dare park illegally! Why do they think they have a right to do so?!!

Taxi drivers in Oban think the bays for blue badge holders are for their use when they go in for a snack.

Why do ballet companies get their dancers to stand on tiptoes? Wouldn't it be easier to just hire taller dancers in the first place?

Ballet companies prioritize body line and stability when looking for dancers, and standing on tiptoes helps enhance these features. Dancers can also maintain better form and posture when standing on their tiptoes. Additionally, standing on tiptoes provides more agility and helps the dancer move in more complex ways.

Did you really think I was being serious?

Same gene pool as red light jumpers, footpath hoppers and busy canal towpath speedsters! Not forgetting wheelie pullers! So hard!!!

OMG I wish I could do wheelies (on empty roads only).
In my 50s now.... definitely not too late to learn, but will wait until the NHS isn't so burdened.

Remember
A) not to try with a long back mudguard
B) when you've loosened your front quick release (thief deterrence) as you forgot your lock when visiting somewhere, then set off forget what you've done it and pull a wheelie...

This has been grating on me for some time.

My car keyfob has always worked but was always quite slow i.e. locking and unlocking worked fine but the mechanisms in the doors seemed very quiet, like they only had enough strength to only just heave the lock into place. I changed the keyfob battery to a Duracell (there was a cheapy one it in before) and now when it locks or unlocks it's ultra quick; it sounds like the locking pins are being fired from a gun they are that hard and fast.

But surely the keyfob only sends a signal or not? or rather, the locking solenoids etc in the car will either receive the signal or not? Why would a better keyfob battery cause it to lock and unlock so much better, when it's getting it's power from the main car battery to do it's job?

I can't seem to upload pictures. I keep getting that Ooops we seem to have a problem' thingy. I thought it might be the size of the pics being too large, but no, even small pics won't upload. I know this site was down last weekend for a few hours for upgrading. Has this got anything to do with it? 🤔

It's been the same for me for a few days. I'm just waiting for it to be fixed.

I did wonder if perhaps they'd installed a content filter and any images that didn't meet their idea of how a well dressed chap should look were being automatically rejected. 😉

I'm waiting to post a pic' of the £250 Borsalino fedora (with a feather attached by me) I bought around Christmas time. I was mocked, with some posters suggesting it'll look like a fly fishing hat. I just want to prove them wrong.🧐
