When you wash a wool sweater, it shrinks.
Why don’t sheep shrink when you leave them out in the rain? 🐑

They do if you put them out in 40C and above and spin them around.

Japan is right hand drive.
There are some streets in Britain where you can drive on the left or the right.

Has a chatbot on any website ever helped you? If you ask a simple question that a toddler could answer, they just point you in the direction of their equally useless FAQs.

It's going to get a whole lot worse if the current AI fad gets a stronger grip.

It isn't a fad, and it will actually get a whole lot better, because they will actually be able to answer your questions rather than telling you to look in the FAQ.

AI is here to stay, and is only going to improve. Whether that is a good thing is open to debate, but trying to suggest it is only a fad, implying it will go away is Canute-like (And yes, I know Canute didn't actually think he could stop the tide, he was deliberately demonstrating he wasn't all powerful).

This.

Like most things, it isn't a fad, it's been around for a lot longer than people are prepared to accept or realise, it's just become more mainstream. Or the way it's talked about has at least.

Chatbots are pretty much the lowest common denominator when it comes to AI.

Indeed. I still have one of my university textbooks on AI - and I graduated 43 years ago, in 1981.

Yes. I'm not sure in teir current incarnation they can really even be classed as AI.

The Vodafone one is especially infuriating. But then their whole approach to customer service is.
