There would be little point in crossing the railway only to be confronted by an estate gate with similarly worded estate sign.
Not sure why you can say "everyone is authorised to use it", as I understand it the estate owner has barred access by the general public in motor vehicles, something they are entitled to do.

Post a picture of a level crossing gate in an out of the way place, and, before you know it, Snorri is there with the recce'ing.

I'm struggling to read those 5 points...

1. check that green light shows
2. open both gates
3. check that green light still shows

4 & 5 - no idea.

You city guys have it so easy, just relaxing and waiting for people to open gates for you. It's tough out here in the world of self serve.
The green lamp glowing means no trains coming, it's safe to cross.
