Beware of McAfee - the 'protection' came for free with our computer and we foolishly renewed after a year. A couple of years on it didn't stop a virus and come the next renewal we tried to cancel 6 weeks in advance. Two weeks after hearing nothing we got an email saying they would take payment early "so your computer is fully protected". It wasn't on a direct debit or standing order, but a 'continual payment' or some other title which meant only the vendor could stop it. I tried contacting McAfee unsuccessfully and then an email came out of the blue from 'our advertising agency' asking for our feedback. I let rip with an email explaining what had happened and stating I'd be seeking legal advice and contacting UK media - We then got a refund and although exchange rate meant we lost about £2, I was glad it was over. Lesson learned.

I am Shocked

shocked I tell you!!!

I have never done anything like that
and certainly not onto CDs

nor computer games in the early days - although if you are going to sell a computer games to someone with a job title of Computer Programmer then what do you expect???

anyway - cassettes wear out - especially the C120 ones
When MiniDisc came along I was borrowing CDs from the library wholesale and copying them to MD.

I used to get them on 7 day approval, copy them to cassette, and send them back!

You & me both, mate at school signed up for it, then we would all record the album & sendit back, also Leeds City Council had a record library & would order albums infor a token fee, which were duly recorded and returned

Very difficult to get rid of McAfee or any of the many 'scams' going. I never subscribe' to anything any more. Once they have your credit card number, they can go on for ever. The Telegraph is just as bad.
