What are you doing on the 15th scoosh? You'll find the ride From Glasgow to Edinburgh will be quiet (i.e. few bikes, though lots of cars probably!)xx(

I know a bit about it - I did it last year, in the rain, rain and more rain

Is anyone else raising money for charity through the event ?

I'm wondering if it'd be cheeky to post a link to my fundraising page up somewhere on CC....

I am. I'm raising money for the Scottish Motor Neuron Disease Association. I wasn't sure if it was cheeky or not as well. I suppose it would be fine. I don't think anyone would feel obliged to donate, as we all realise that folk on here have different financial backgrounds, many may donate to charity already etc. Maybe we could have a please sponsor me thread and people can look in or not as they see fit. What do you think?

I've posted links to my sponsor page when I've done PFS. No one was offended and a lot of people sponsored me. In fact one guy told me his mother had died of the disease I was raising money for and thanked me for doing it.

If there's a few people from the one forum doing it though I don't know how it would work, maybe get sponsored as a team rather than individuals?

I'm not sure how that would work if we're all doing different charities, as JustGiving only seems to let you do one charity on your page as far as I know. Of course, we could decide on one charity and set up a TeamCC page for that, and then all have our own individual ones for our own charities that we can tap friends / families / workmates for money on those ?

That was bright ;0) Only kidding, I'm sure you'll work it out :0)

Bob, the guy pestering me to do it, wants to just do the run without raising money. I'm really not into that idea though as the whole thing was conceived and is laid on as a charity ride. To me it seems an abuse to take advantage of the work people have put in organising the ride and not even bother to raise any money.
