I’d add the 507 to that list. I’ve also always been a sucker for the original 8 series, although I’ll concede it’s not out-and-out beautiful.

introduced in 1961 ... a six cylinder 4.2l. At the time a Ferrari 250 was a 3 litre V12. First Jag V12 was also 1961 and we all know which beauty they shoehorned that into.

The 3.8 is a better engine, higher revving and nicer sounding. The 4.2 was mainly built for higher torque in the 'luxury' saloons.

When I was in the 5th form, the father of one of the girls in my class had a mk10, I guess back then it was just a big old car, with plenty of room
It seemed to lose its purity of form by then, looking like a 'greenhouse on wheels', to suit the American market
Heck, evrn 'Viz' drew it on a front cover, crossing it with a DB5

That sounds like one that belonged to a chap who went to the same gym I did when I still lived in Pontecarlo. If so it hasn't moved very far in the last 20-ish years.

With hindsight, it might have been a 'wrap', as it wasn't the purple-green 'Chameleon', more of a gold/purple/blue/etc.....

Typically on a day when I'd lef my phone at home so couldn't take any pictures, the car park at the pub I stopped off at for a quick pint had a first generation Ford Mustang GT Fastback in pristine and unmodified condition and an early Escort XR3i also in top condition.
