Hello

So I'm new to all this forum business and fairly new to cycling...

I'm a road cyclist living in North London and it would be great to get some training advise/ somebody to train with! I mostly commute at the moment but have signed up for a couple of events in September. Advise most welcome!!

I train with a local club but it's more of a social thing than anything else... any tips on improving my stamina? Especially when it comes to hills!

Thanks!

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi. I came across this site via the Sunday Times.

Have been cycling since I was 7 (now 62). Cycled in London, Birmingham and now Horsley. Regular outings with U3A cycle group - couple of over 70s in the group with artificial hips!! Had a ride round the Box Hill circuit the other day and will be up Staple Lane (part of the Olympic route) tomorrow morning. I was interested in the discussion on helmet cams and wonder what people recommend? There is one which videos both ways. Is this any good?

Hello my name is Tony, I've recently started cycling to work in lichfield Staffs, so I purchased through cyclescheme a new powacycle salisbury electric bike. I have so far covered over 1000 miles trouble free. I am looking to buy a helmet cam or silmilar so any advice would be appreciated and also advice on the salisbury... thanks

hello

posting from wroclaw in poland, currently here for a month and due to the amount of spare time i have have once again fallen in love with cycling and have been booting round this great city on bike going here and there. Havent ridden for years but as a kid and teenager was always out on my bike. Live in Coventry, anyway i havent actually got a bike at home just here in Poland. the reason for me joing this forum mainly or initially if you will is to get advice on a decent bike for my price range well two bikes really one for me and one for the wife, but i guess there is a section for that.

untill then

Hi all
just started cycling again to mainly get fit and do things I've never done before ie challenging myself in sportives and such. I started cycling weighing over 16.5 stone after six months I'm now at 13. Last weekend I took part in the Manchester to Blackpool ride with a finish time of 3:30 and next I hope to get a few people to come on a ride up snowdon. I like road and mountain biking .
Thanks for reading me babble on

Hi All

I lived on bikes until I was 16 (when it changed to mototbikes), then hardly used one until I got a new drop handle road bike for my 40th birthday, nearly 6 years ago.

Just recently got enthused enough to start riding again regularly, for fitness mainly having been inspired by watching the Tour de France daily (in between jobs and new job doesn't start until the end of the Tour!). I even changed my first ever inner tube at the weekend.

Keen to do a European cycling tour sometime in the next couple of years - I'll look around the Forums to see what advice I can find.

Hi all!

I am new to the forum and I have just started cycling again for fitness and weight loss.
At the moment I have a five year old Ridgeback speed which is ok but I don't find it very comfortable, I think it is slightly too big for me and I fancy a new bike anyway so I will be asking for your advice

Hi all. I'll be getting my ridley out of the loft in the near future. It's been there for about 6 years! I took up cycling to lose weight and kick start a fitness regime at that time but soon took up running instead. A few years worth of running later I've decided to dust her off and get back in the saddle. Although I have a good understanding of running schedules etc. I have limited knowledge and experience of cycling schedules, races etc. I'm loooking forward to receiving some great advice from all of you experienced riders.

hello,

my names osama and Im from glasgow. I am very new to bike riding and therefore I do not know much about bicycle's/ parts etc.

I recently bought a Claude butler bike from a website (all about the bike). I received it assembled and, the bike had several problems with it, that is what my local bike shop told me. (front wheel was buckled and some issue with the crank at the rear wheel causing the gears to not shift properly. this was without me even riding the bike down to the shop which is 5 mins from my house.

Anyhow got that sorted now, my main problem is when I pedal i feel and hear a click from the right pedal. I am not sure whether it is from the pedal or from some where else. could any body help me out on this situation so the bike shops don't rip me off.

I know I have written too much but if anyone can inform me about the clicking problem it will be really help full.

thanks
