Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hello
I'm in Settle, been riding a bike for more than a few years, I have a few bikes, trying to build my miles up, went round Dentdale on Sunday, I am not that good at the 1:5s, just need to lose a stone I guess, or at least move it from my waist to my legs (I have noticed on a longish ride I spend more in cafs than I would have spent on diesel in a car )

Hi All,
I'm Shaun (stoatsngroats from a long time ago!!), and I've returned to CC as I have returned to cycling, met a wonderful woman who is also a keen cyclist, and we're both progressing very quickly to Cycle touring!!! HOORAY!!!

I'll be checking out trailers, campsites on the south coast, Jersey/Guernsey and Northern France - so feel free to offer any advice you may feel worthy!!

Oh, it's great to be back!!

Nice to have you back, and feel free to get stuck into the site again. It's probably changed a bit since last time you used it, but you'll soon get used to it.

Have fun.

Uh, uh, h,h,hello,

Im Surya (Fathernugen) and I'm a recovering bikealholic. I love the smell, the taste and the feeling a bike gives you. The leather of the.seat, the smell of chain oil, and burning brake pads, I used to bike all day, all night, I couldn't sleep unless I had been out on my bike. I would travel maybe 50 miles to get a look at a bike. I stole from my granny to pay for a bike. I got really deep into bikes, lost all my friends, and thought I might never return to "normal" life.

Whispers - "I'm going for a bike ride later, don't tell my rehab officer."

I'm new here. Dreamed of returning to cycling and lazy , sunny days in the saddle once I'd retired. so far so good except for the 'lazy' bit.

Hi. I live in Brighton and I've been riding around town on my mum's old Apollo that's too big for me (but fortunately not a BSO) for ten years on and off. I've been going a bit further more recently but still mostly as transport, but then last week I signed up to do 480 miles in six days so I thought I'd better find some people to bother for advice.

This week I got a Ridgeback Cyclone, which is my first proper bike ever. I haven't taken it out properly yet but want to do about 50 miles tomorrow. Any suggestions for a nice 25 mile one-way route from Brighton (I like to know where I'm going on the way back)?

Hi boys and girls,

My name is Dave.

Looks like a friendly forum! Can anyone with point me in the right direction as to where in the forum to find a cycling partner?

I'm an ex club cyclist who has returned to the fold and needs to get fit. I'm not really interested in the die-hard stuff anymore, and am more interested in leisurely rides at the weekend down by the Thames or in Richmond Park (off road stuff). So I'm really looking for beginners with a sociable attitude. Any reply will be appreciated.

Hello.

I've been lurking on some other forums so thought I might lurk here too. I mostly lurk in London but like to get out of the big smoke on weekends and flutter along the little backlanes.

Hi!

Hey all,
I'm a Finnish bike-commuter looking for excuses to buy more expensive gear than I really need. Forums are usually good at providing those.
Just joined the CC endomondo team as well.

Morning all,

Just thought I'd say hi. Just started cycling again after a 15 odd year hiatus, after my raleigh Lizard got nicked from out side my friends house when I was at school. Decided to start again after lusting over my housemates Dawes Galaxy touring bike and I've since picked myself up a second hand Dawes Synthesis of Gumtree (£30! probably nicked, circle of life I guess..). At the moment its mainly for work and cycling into Birmingham City Centre at weekend. Really enjoying it though and looking to upgrade to something a bit better in the very near future.
