Welcome to the forums Madpensioner (from another new member! =P)

Can I just say...I don't know about everybody else...but I think 140 miles (even not on your 70th birthday) in a day is amazing =P

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hello Shaun,
Thanks for the welcome.
I am Ray; I live in Welwyn Garden City Herts. I have just turned 59 and although I wouldn’t say that I was a fanatical cyclist or even cycled regularly I have had a bike (not the same one) since I was about 9 (WOW! that’s over 50 yrs :-{ ). My wife and I have recently started riding again more regularly since I am currently unemployed and we have a little extra time for ourselves.

Anyway, the forum looks good and with restricted finance, I am having to resort to extensive use of my tools and mechanical knowledge to make do and mend with a bunch of old and gifted cycles. So I will be availing myself of the forum for knowhow and tips – Either things have changes (that’s inevitable) or I seem to have forgot how things fit together on bikes.

Cheers

Ray

Hello from Idaho! I am an avid cyclist for about the last 20 years. I commute to work and love to ride long on the weekends. Mountain biking and road...just love to cycle.

Hello all! :hello:

I'm female (as you can probably tell by my username) and live in Cheshire. I've been "lurking" for a while trying to pick up tips on what sort of bike to get (and generally getting even more confused than I was to begin with!) and you seem like a friendly bunch so I thought I'd dive in...!

Off to have a wander around the place now and see what I can learn...

Just seen this section and realised I didn't make this my first post as I posted in the technical section first (straight to business :becool:

Hope everyone is well and glad to have found such a dedicated forum.

Relatively new to the biking world but I am now hooked! Ride everywhere now, so much cheaper and keeps me fit.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

If you know what's good for you ...
Hi

I've been looking for a friendly place to share cycling stories. I'm on a couple of other forums, but this place looks more my style. It looks like there are a lot of British people here - which is a double bonus for me as I miss that particular brand of British humour that you don't find anywhere else! I've been living in France for 13 years, but I'm originally from Bath. Started cycling when I was 15 - that was too many years ago for me to care to mention! I don't like competition riding anymore - I'm not interested to know if I'm faster than other people or not. These days it's touring that really rings my bell!
Glad to be here.
