Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Evening all!

I'm Stu, new to road cycling & began commuting to work in Q4 2010. Looking to build on this & want to complete the London to Paris ride in September!

I'm 23 & currently I weigh 17st 10lbs & want to use cycling to improve this, around my current work & personal life commitments. I intend to use a mixture of turbo training in the house (scaring the cats & annoying the parents!) and road cycling during the weekends.

I will start a new thread somewhere more appropriate as I look for advice on issues like my fitness & training, mainly for the London-Paris ride but also for getting on with general training to improve my fitness!

Cheers

Stu

I've been a roadie for a couple of years and with the really rainy spring we are having I found time to surf the net and stumbled on your forum while searching for information.

Hi,

My name's Stuart Nash, currently living in Preston, Lancs. I've joined this forum mainly for advice. I'm a complete novice when it comes to cycling. I recently bought myself a road bike for fitness and I've caught the bug. So much so I've decided to do a sponsored 190mile bike ride for charity.

Any help and advice would be great

Stu

hello every one i'm neal from cumbria and am fairly new to cycling my current bikes a specialized crosstrail expert 2010 with various bits and pieces added since i bought it, the last being a set of schwalbe ultremo r1 racing tyres. they look a bit daft on my hybrid but i'm happy with them and they have helped me improve my average speed.

Helloo!!

A complete newbie here, never really cycled before, BUT our 5yr old son started cycling 4+ weeks ago and has really taken to it and forced us into cycling all the time with him! OH is getting himself a C2W bike very shortly, I am left with an old tatty bike, DD has a new one and 5yr old son is getting a shiny new Islabike this time next week

It's all very expensive right now getting new bikes sorted etc, but we are all really pleased our lad has brought us all into the cycling world

Oh, we live in Buckinghamshire and 5yr old son is doing the Tour DeVale 15 mile route and dragging dad and older brother along, haha! Look forward to chatting to you all

Welcome to the Dwaff family. Sounds like your 5 year old is a future star, with a bit of luck and a fair wind. Once you all have your bikes the world is your oyster. Feel free to join in the forums.:welcome:

Hi Shaun
Nice Welcome
I am a Scot living in London and I want to see my home land again and enjoy it as a tourist (kind of).
I am returning to cycling after a good few years (at least 20) and I want to get back into it in a big way.
I intend to do the JOGLE next year and have been impressed by what I have read on cyclechat.
I have purchased a cannondale and I intend to do a few maintenance workshops so I can be self
sufficient for repairs. This said I have to get fit to complete my adventure along with organising everything else
so lots of work ahead.
