Haven't had a bike for about ten years now and am looking to get back into things. Don't have a clue where to start though!

I'll make a thread in the appropriate section for advice

Hello Domestos and welcome.

What ever you're looking to get into there are plenty of knowledgeable people round here with very good advice - though I'm not one of them.

Hello all, was a serious cyclist years and years ago but drifted away as I found women, beer, cars etc. Now older and wiser and enjoying discovering again just how good it can be on a cycle.

I had my first go on a trike last week - only a minute or so, but what great fun.

Cornering is a bit of a dark-art though ...

Hullo fom Evesham. Worcs.

I'm 63 and have been cycling on and off most of my life. I might add have never been long distances ,that is over 30miles but enjoy the freedom, especially around country roads in the summer.

Welcome aboard. You'll find a few of us laid back riders over in the special interests > recumbents section.

Welcome Dave. Country roads in summer sun are some of the finest miles on offer. I totally see the appeal.

Hello Canardly. Don't tell anyone, but there are drivers, beer drinkers and women here too. Some are even beer drinking women, with cars!

Hello, my name is Anthony and I'm 16 years old. I love road cycling in scenic areas of the UK. I have been riding on road bikes for about 4 years now. Now I have left school, I will be cycling almost everyday, with different routes each day. I also enjoy photography, so I go no-where without my camera. I am currently setting up my Deviant Art page, where I will be submitting my photographs.

Howdo Anthony. I'm arallsopp at deviant art. Look me up some time. Not much by way of photos yet, but I'm keen.

Hello from and old godger

Hi, just joined and would like to say hello. I used to do a lot of cycling but after a back operation four years ago I am now paralysed in my lower left leg. So no more hard road stuff, just an easy run most mornings on the local dog walk pottering about. I really miss the long runs and the club banter.

Hello and Welcome to the CC forums.

Sorry to hear about your disability due to the operation - it must be difficult after being so active in the cycling community.

Don't your old cycling buddies meet up for a coffee/beer before or after some runs? I'm sure they'd like you to keep in touch.
Maybe you could organise shorter runs for yourself and others in a similar situation to yourself?

Good luck anyway and all the best for the future - I'll look forward to seeing posts from you.
