Dianne said:Hello, I'm Dianne, I'm in Paris until early December, for an adventure. Couldn't bring my Dawes - in storage - so am looking for a cheap city bike for the duration. Any recommendations, please?
Also, I would like to learn of any sociable cycling occasions.
rushandy said:Hi there,
Andy here. Just ordered a new bike on the cycle to work scheme after not cycling for 14 years or so (Im 32 now). Plan on commuting into work (8 miles each way) with a view to getting fit and losing some weight.
Tried it the other day on an old mountain bike and felt OK. Really excited to get started now with my new bike!

I've never been in one but I believe mainland Europe(and some parts of the UK) has a chain of shops called "Decathlon" that sell a great range of "own brand" value for money bikes. There is one in Paris - the company started in France.
Maybe if you post this on Beginners or the "Cafe" you'll recieve a better response.
Good luck with the adventure.
