Greetings to all members of the forum, I have been a cyclist on and occasionally off since 1942 (yipes) my recent increased interest is that I have just bought off eBay for £40 a quality bike of the sort I could not afford when I was a youngster. The thing is it has been in someone's shed for about 25 years . It is a Pearson lightweight road machine of about 1983/4, the colour scheme of the frame is rubbish (sludge green) and the tub tyres are totally perished but it is Reynolds 531 and when I had a chance to get to look at it she seems hardly worn even the natural leather saddle looks like it can be brought back to life. Closer inspection shows some lovely lugwork and an undamaged frame . Was thinking of updating some of the gear but it all looks good, the rear mech is a Shimano Arabesque 105 gold arrow with matching shifters. So it looks like a respray, new wheels a polish of all the existing alloy bits.
I will start a thread and take some as found pic's befor stripping it.
Eric.

Hi I'm Dave. I've cycled most my life but recently becoming more of an enthusiast with new road bike, Garmin computer and rollers to see me through the bad weather, all in the name of good health as I rapidly approach middle age. I've joined cycle chat for help and advice and hopefully, within a limited scope, I can help and advise others and participate in discussions.

Hello to all.

I have only just found this site, while searching for information on bikes by the Soens family. I have an Eddie Soens frame (number 331), and am looking forward to sharing some photos and some history about the frame and its running gear.

Hi! Here goes, my first post. I'm Stan. I've recently moved to Liverpool from Wiltshire. I used to be a regular cycle commuter but due to the new job which comes with a car I can't do that any more so I've got myself a road bike! The plan is to actually start cycling for fun (and fitness).

Hello there

Having rode MTB for years in my teens and 20's I have decided to buy a road bike I live in Peterhead Aberdeenshire and am at the moment riding 15-20 miles a day on my giant defy.

I have joined this site to pick up some tips on how to ride faster and longer and also to meet new people

Cheers
