Hi all,

Complete and utter newbie to cycling here; for the rather unusual reason that, despite now being 30, I never properly learnt to ride! Had an adult cycling lesson last week and all went well though, so I purchased a CX bike at a bargain price from Edinburgh Bike Coop last week and I'm determined to get bitten by the bug. Need to keep up with my fiancee who is working up towards 150 miles / month on her SPecialized TriCross nowadays.

Clothing order placed with Wiggle too. I'll be a MAMIL before you know it... ;)

Hi

44 yo guy here from Derbyshire.

Getting into cycling to increase my fitness and to get out into the Countryside.

Always been a big fan of watching cycling, but only just discovered how good it is to actually get on the bike myself!

Will be posting plenty of questions ^_^

Hello to all,

I'm a long time lurker here, think it's about time to expose myself

Been a lifelong cyclist, and spent first 43 years living in Reading, Berks. Currently staying in Banglen, Thailand, about 1 hours drive from BKK. This has been my home for the last 10 years, and regularly go back to UK for some hols.

I do a lot of fettling over this way, as well as just cycling around the area, and have recently completed my MK2 tadpole recumbent. Will post another thread on that with some pics etc, so for now thanks for being a very informative and entertaining bunch, look forward to conversing with you in the future.

Cheers - Frank.

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

 from me too!

(See, that's how you do an introduction ...)
Not sure if this is where you post a new post (being a virgin member) but just wanted to say Hi to fellow cycle enthusiasts, especially anyone in the Cornwall area! Would also like to know if anyone can help me find a replacement Shimano 105 flight deck silver cap (left) for a 9 speed shifter. A hedge jumped out of me on my last ride and we had a heavy coming together! I was of course going too fast and my brakes need attention!
Thanks for any replies even if it's a negative on the shifter cap.

Hey!
So I'm Ryan and I'm from Basingstoke
I started cycling (after a long absence since childhood) about 4 months ago. It was mainly to get fit and lose weight, both of which is has helped significantly for me to achieve.
I have recently purchased the Specialized Tarmac 2015 which is delivered on Saturday.
Anyway, just wanted to say Hi and hopefully i'll pass a few of you on the roads!!
