Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun
Hi there I have not cycled for a while. My passion is riding horses but I retired recently with a goal to improve my health and fitness. Part of the plan was to start cycling but I have arthritis and no cartilage now in my left hip. It made sense to go for an electric bike having tried one. To cut a long story short, I chose the new Raleigh Motus Low Step and I can't believe how perfect this is for what I want. It is very well built, solid and comfortable and provides just the right level of assistance. The worst thing you can do if you have arthritis is to stop exercising. You need strong muscles to support your joints and you need to keep moving your joints to keep them lubricated. Some people have said to me that electric bikes are cheating and they can't see the point. This is wrong. All the motor does is take the pain out of it and make it a pleasure.

Hi there. I'm new to the forum. I've been cycling to and from work 3 times per week for the past 4 weeks now and loving it. I've bought a Lapierre Shaper 100 road hybrid bike (much smoother than my old mountain bike)

Hi Trooper and Jughead. You're no longer the newbies round here! I feel like it's my first day in school all over again so please be gentle with me. I live in Prestwich in north Manchester and, as my avatar shows, have just completed a JOGLE with my two daughters aged 18 and 16. I was proud of them for sure. Looking forward to many more rides and sharing tales with other Cycle Chat members. Here goes..............

Hello all, reformed MTBer here trying my luck with traffic rather than trees for once. Suddley realised that 'cheap' bib shorts are definitely not worth the saving when I'm hobbling the day after a 50mile ride!

Hello all, I am a 34 year old father of 2 tornadoes, sorry, wonderful boys and my fitness is of a basic level. I have now been cycling for a week and enjoying it immensely (despite the aching legs!)

Hey I'm new, cycling in the Leicester area which is very hazardous as bike commuting hasn't really taken off much.

Recommend airzound as it really helps driver awareness
