Hi, I'm new!! Just bought a cannondale yesterday. I hit 40 and decided I needed to get fit!! Hope to lose a few pounds too!
Did my second ride today 8.2 miles with a drink stop for 5mins. I have padded shorts but my bum is very tender!! Any tips?!! I hope to get the cycle bug!!

P.S. I read in another post and it makes sense, that as your legs get stronger they support more of weight so less pressure on your bum!HI,Well done, go for rides little and often, gradually increasing the distance and your sit bones will soon toughen up. Some people like padded clothing and saddles but you have to find what is comfortable for your shape. I like a gel saddle but wearing padded shorts feels like I'm wearing a nappy! Lol!
