...well you say that, but what does "You have insufficient privileges to reply here" mean?

Presumably you're talking about the Classifieds / For Sale forum? You automatically gain access to Classifieds 10 days after registration and after you've made more than 5 posts (see the welcome message in your Inbox - top right).

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi, new to this forum, hope to raise a query on Lejog. I'm a middle-aged, short, ordinary girl with a Pashley 3 speed sit-up-and-beg. We creak as we negotiate country lanes, still not sure if its the bike or me and in no hurry to find out the cold truth. Thinking of doing Lejog next year (something I've wanted to do since I was young and silly), so will be posting on that subject shortly. Lejog on a Pashley 3 speed, unsupported, camping ... with a dog - how hard can it be?. Yup, might need some help here ....

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi Shaun, thanks.

Hi Katherine - you can click the 'Reply' link in the bottom right of any post if you want to reply to it. If you want to start a new thread, go to the forum you want to post it in, eg 'Beginners', and up towards the top-right of the screen you should see a 'Post New Thread' button. Click that and you can create your post.

Hope that helps - if you need anything else, just holler! :welcome:

Hiya Shaun and everyone!

Got a bit carried away and jumped straight to a beginners thread, as I was in a right pickle with my gears and my tush was killing me from my first ride in AGES.

Fab community on here, received some amazing help. Thank you. ^_^

Hi, signing in from South West London. I restore vintage bikes as a hobby, just completed a 1950's Elswick Hopper with rod brakes, a Pashley delivery bike, a Phillips Vox Populi, a BSA Tour de France and a 50's Raleigh ladies bike. I have another dozen clunkers in the garage waiting to be brought back from imminent extinction.
