Hi everyone. I'm still fairly new to cycling but started commuting to work (only a few miles but it's a start!) and hoping to build up a love for two wheels!

Greetings from Portugal! Bicycles are such a pleasant means of transport that make pleasant subjects of conversation. I'm glad to become a new member.

Boas pedaladas!

Hello hello. I'm from the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, and so naturally a mountain goat. A little slow on the flats. I'm 21, I've been cycling casually for a while now- I want to get faster but it's all in good fun. Just finishing up at University, graduating in July (oh dear...).

H, I've just joined and these are my bikes old and new. The 'old' is a custom built Henry Burton with a biopace chain set. Just put it back together.
Any way hello from Cumbria.

$_57 (2).JPG Hi everyone! New to this cycling lark! I bought my first new bike through the ride to work scheme at my works, a Boardman Comp Hybrid. At the time I was going to get a road bike but was talked out of it by friends. However the lure of the lycra meant that pretty soon I was trawling ebay in search of a cheap an cheerful road bike! As you might be able to tell from my avatar, I bought this Beautiful(to me anyway) Fondriest Reverso. As far as I can find out about it it dates from the late nineties to early '00s but it looks like its just rolled out of the shop! Well that's all folks I'll lurk around for a bit now!

Hello Shaun, and hello everyone... My name is Andrew and I got into cycling in 2007-08 just because I was to fat to run, have since lost 46 kgs going from 126kgs to a much healthier 80kgs at my best prime time 78kg and doing around lake Taupo New Zealand 160km just under 5hrs... Are there any other Kiwi's out there?

Welcome, I'd love to visit New Zealand, and definitely Lake Taupo, that's where my old next door neighbours living in NZ summer, then they come back to the UK for the UK summer, and the flights are their main expenditure each year. Called in to see them yesterday. Interesting to get the size of Lake Taupo.

Hello from the NE
Brand new to the site (been lurking for a while) so thought I'd sign up for a little help and advice as I like to tinker with my bike regarding maintenance (and I mean tinker). I'm an elderly bloke and have a Specialized Sirrus Hybrid which is used every day more or less. I am what you would call a plodder, do'nt do big inclines if they get to heavy I get off and push, no set routes, times or speeds, just follow my nose and enjoy the fresh air and freedom that cycling gives me, and of course the exercise. This attitude may differ to some, but it suits me and I love it. Hope this post goes where it should as I have said I am brand new.
