why is the word kicthen banned from the post?lol

We get a lot of spammers trying to post links to kitchen websites so new member posts are checked and flagged to help us keep CC spam free ... ;)

Oh, and we welcome you and your kitchen to CC ...

Hi all!

I'm looking to get a bike for the first time in a few years - thinking of either a hybrid or cyclocross but as a relative newcomer I'm unsure. I'm based in Cardiff and don't plan on doing anything tougher than the Taff Trail or perhaps a few country paths.

I get quite jealous of the riders out on a Sunday morning but clip-in pedals don't appeal too much - at the moment.

Hi there- fairly experienced user of other forums, but mainly checking in here in order to use the classifieds section to sell a load of stuff! I'm off to the Pyrenees for a month next week, so stuff may be going fairly cheaply! I'll try to contribute to the forum too though...

Hi - welcome to CycleChat.
Just a warning - you need to contribute to the forums (by posting) and be a member for 10 days before you can post in the classified section...

HI - I'm in my 50's and I''ve had my bike (Cannondale Synapse) about a year or so but not really got to grips with it regularly. I've a reasonable understanding of gears/cadence now, longest ride of 30 miles. I don't have much of a history of cycling, certainly not for many years. The 2 things I'd like to get topside of are becoming confident/practised in busy traffic situations and raising my game when it comes to hills/inclines - at the moment I'm totally lacking in both strength and technique. I have some smashing countryside on my doorstep though, so great incentive to improve and take advantage of it.

Ah, that'll be no use then! (does that even stretch to an Ebay link?) Oh well, seems like a nice community anyway, I'm sure I'll be back!

Try PM'ing Shaun (the boss) - go to your name in the blue bar at the top, click 'conversations' and start a conversation with Shaun. He might be nice and let you into that forum before you've been here that length of time if you ask him nicely and explain why.

Then again, he might not!

Hello Everybody! HELLO PEOPLE!!!
It's my first post.
My name is Alex(or Sasha or Alexander) and i'm twenty-nine years old. I'm from Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
I found this forum ocassionaly, but i like it. I speak English bad, but you don't take offence, please.
I'm a bicyclist. I ride by my bike all year round and even winter. Ride to my work, ride to my friends, ride to the forest, to tournaments, etc. Also, i like orienteering(it's sport when people go to the forest and they must find checkpoint's).
Have you got questions about travel by bike in my country? I'd like answer
Best regards, Alex.

Hello. I'm new here. Had something of a hiatus from cycling although was quite obsessive as a teen about bikes (sadly a Saturday job in halfords quenched my enthusiasm) but middle aged spread has motivated me to get fit. I've been running for a while, and am now fittish, but caught a bug for longer and longer distances, and there's only so far you can run in a day. Have joined to hopefully get some friendly advice on gear etc.

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun
