TC Reporting for duty Sir

errr! not my first post though it should have been.

Anyway Im Tom (close friends get to call him TC :shy:) from Scotland. A mate of mine bought a camping trailer last August so we went off to Skye for a few days to try it out - Cracking weather while the rest of Scotland had monsoon's. After our return I thought about fishing/camping trips I did years ago, this lead me to buying a new bike - Viking Urban Trail. I then thought about all the grear I would have to carry - Tent, Cooker, Sleeping bag, Food, Change of clothes, Fishing gear & Rods......the list is endless.

Humm!
Build a trailer. So over the past few months thats wot iv'e been up to, plus spending a small fortune on bike bits & bobs.

Tom C

PS... See my Work In Progress post if any ofyou are into bike trailers.

Hello everyone yes I am another newbie my name is Helen, I live in Norwich and have been interested in cycling for a while but never jointed a forum or a local club until now. I commuter to work on my mountain bike and recently joined my work's bicycle users group which we meet once or twice a week and go for a cycle ride and stoping of at a pub for a pint and cheesy chips.

I hope I have lots of fun here!

Hello Helen

Careful with those crisps! The more you scoff the harder the hills become (trust me, I should know)!

Regards,
SD

HI have posted a couple of things already. Only a month into cycle commuting but loving it just over 26 miles every day from chislehurst to WC1 and looking forward to my first full week in couple of weeks time. Caught the bug so now trying to find some type of complete hybrid bike, e.g. cyclocross tourer but with brilliant speed!!!

London to Paris bike ride 1 - 4 July - help!!!!!!

Hi there - my name is Paul. I am taking part in the London to Paris bike ride in a couple of weeks in aid of kids with cystic fibrosis and would like to put out a "plea". I am coming down on the train from Birmingham to Marylebone on 30th June and need to get from Marylebone to my hotel in Blackheath. As I can't take my bike on the underground and will have luggage with me I would like to ask if there are any kind people out there in London who would consider giving me and my bike a lift. I would have to change trains about 5 times if I went on the overland train and as I don't know London would probably get lost if I tried to cycle there!
Thanks for looking. Paul.

What kind of bike are you doing the trip on - can't it take a rack and panniers? If so... ride from Marylebone across to Blackheath. Option 2 might be pre-booking an MPV sized taxi
