Hi there - thanks for getting back to me. My luggage will probably be too big for paniers but is the route easy from Marylebone to Blackheath and how far please? What is the best was to book a taxi from Marylebone? Cheers. Paul

I would probably do something like this
10 miles or so, past some nice land marks. Will be a hill at Greenwich but by then you're almost there!

Newbie Here

Afternoon everyone, its fathers day today, and yesterday I received my £550 LOC for the cycle2work scheme, unfortunately its tied to Halfords but am sure I can find a decent bike. which means i can treat myself to a bike and get into this cycling lark

Am looking to start racking up the road miles so I can build up to the long commutes to work, but also wanted to have a little bit of off-road fun... originally i was going to go for the Boardman Hybrid Comp at £499, but am now thinking about going for the Boardman MTB http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_561381_langId_-1_categoryId_165499

all the Boardmans seem to have good reviews

unless someone can recommend another bike through Halfords.

looking forward to reading the threads

Another newbie here!

I have already introduced myself in another part of the forum but thought I best do it in here aswell since that's what the thread is for!

My name is Andrew, i'm 25 and live in Cleadon Village which is in the North East, it's close to Newcastle. I haven't been into cycling long (road cycling that is) and have also recently joined Gosforth club. My intentions are to hopefully start racing.

Hello

I would like to say a big hello to everyone on Cycle Chat on behalf of out-therebikes.

So who am i?

Well my name is Matthew and i am here to talk all things cycling with you. I currently ride a Muddyfox Vice and enjoy a relaxing (yet tiring) bike ride every Sunday and whenever i can. I am a qualified bike technician and love reparing and servicing bikes (especially my own).

I shall be interested to hear your thoughts on the Muddyfox bikes, especially the new 2009 range that is coming soon.

Anyway have a good day and enjoy this sunshine, while it lasts.

So, errrr, hi...

Yes, I know that the convention round here is to choose a user name based on the model name of one of your bikes, but it didn't seem to work. 'Mantra' sounds too religious, while 'Jekyll' rather tends the other way. 'Record Ace' is a bit too, well, self-satisfied, while 'Multi-purpose' is too unassertive. And my road bike doesn't have a model name.

So... err... I'm just me. I ride bikes.

Hi.
