I live in Hastings (East Sussex) and love cycling, especially by the sea! I need a bot of advice about the cycle route between Bexhill and Hastings but have no idea where to put it in terms of different forums, wondered if someone would be so kind as to gently push me in the right direction. im 26 yr old sports degree student @MMU manchester but i live in skelmersdale, near wigan (6 miles)

I just bought a road bike today from halfords yes i know some might turn a lip but that mine field out there on the second hand market was doing my head in i wanted some security and something that will hold its price ok. plus the extra weight will do me good for training purposes!

o yeah i bought a Carerra Virtuoso lim edition 2012 in nice white and blue for the olypimpics i might add COME ON GB!!

i am looking to train hard to get myself upto speed so i can replace my void that i now have from retiring from football as of last weekend. this is a big step for me in terms of hobbie swapping as i have been a team player for ever and although doing running alot ive not done much else as way of individual competing. I would like to do some extreme cycling in the future and some speed work to as i am pretty fast on the ground.

if anyone can point me in the right direction id love that

Hideehi all. I joined Cyclechat last Aug but due to circumstances I wont go into, I have not been on the site since then. So to introduce myself really, i've come on here to say 'ello. I'm mid 50's geezer and have always ridden to and from work, but @ 5-6 years ago got into riding for pleasure, and to burn a few extra calories. I'm an unashamed fiddler, in the best sense, and am always trying something different with my equipment. I am always on the lookout for the odd, unusual and even sometimes, the non-existent piece of kit that i think will improve my bike. Hence, I ride wot has been described by younger members of my clan, a sic machine. Built from the frame up by myself, so its a complete one off. Loop frame, 700c Shimano R500's, RST suspension forks, alloy 8" rise BMX bars, Shimano XT gearing / drive train with 34-45-55 rings & 11-32 9speed cassette. I ride solo and purley for pleasure. Nothing better than just the sound of y'tyres on the tarmac, wind in the trees and birds in the air. Countryside is abundant in my neck of the woods so i'm very lucky. I hope to become a regular visitor now so look forward to hearing from , anyone , anytime about anything. Psycolist.

Hello all I'm Alex, been a member for 2 years nearly, but only started using this site a month ago. Used to do XC for 5 years, now I ride a Giant Defy 4 which I'm upgrading to be a bit higher specced than it is.
