Welcome jillywitchy. I just saw you posted something - all the new posts come up on the ''what's new'' option in the top banner. I think you have to be in a forum (choose the appropriate one from the top banner) to be able to start a new topic - and, though I don't remember exactly, you may have to have made a few posts on existing threads before you can start a new topic. There are a few things you can't do when you're new but you'll get set up in no time at all.
thank you i will go and try :-)

Hello! Logging in from Southwest Michigan. Getting into cycling after many years of staying fit, but doing different things (jogging, etc). Did an awful lot of reasonably technical mountain biking back in the day (15-20 years ago) but haven't really rode a lot since. Just the occasional day run. My achilles tendon is telling me to back off on jogging a bit - so I've been turning back to cycling.

My wife and I finally decided to switch from fat nobbies on pavement and get proper road bikes. Picked up a Trek Madone 4.5 and I've been logging a fair number of miles with it. I know its obvious but.... what a difference vs having a mountain bike on the road!

So I'm a hairy legged noobie on a road bike but I'm starting to get some real miles under me. My first real run will be the Zoo-de-Mac in northern Michigan. Basically its a 50 mile Saturday run bookmarked by a party on Friday night and a party on Saturday night.

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi!! Im Chris. I currently live in North Wales and ride a downhill MTB i have created myself. Around where i live has a good mix of hills and flat roads so there is always a change of scenery if the feeling takes me.
