Not too recently then Pete 😎

I was a roll-up man. But yes: Taylormades are literally eye watering I’d imagine 😳

I would guess early 80's ish.
No vapey thingies to avoid cold turkey. I just decided I wasn't going to spend over a quid a pack and stopped. I'd tried before by cutting down but that didn't work.

No app for the list. It was straightforward enough once I got started. Not the most cheerful of tasks but at least it’s underway now. It was useful for me to go through the various subscriptions/direct debits and prune a couple out too.

My wife left detailed instructions for her funeral and even had the music and psalms versions chosen. The minister had the correct tape for the music but got the bit of the tape wrong due to a technical malfunction. He had contacted all her friends locally and made a story out of it which was very moving for all concerned.
The rest was done by me and it took well over a month to get things sorted out.

Every time an article about road safety pops up in the local rag or Facebook, the comments section instantly fills up with people blaming pedestrians, cyclists, the roads, traffic Islands, the speed cameras, barking dogs, stray hamsters, their horoscopes, low flying UFOs, or basically anything rather than take responsibility and drive more safely.

Such is the motorcar rules society. A pedestrian was injured in an accident at a pretty nasty T junction on the A61 this week prompting calls for traffic lights at it. Countering that immediately are concerns that such will cause delays to motorists. :banghead:

Heavy rain and strong wind forecast but does not seem to have arrived yet.
Wake up call this morning at 0719 from a number I have not bothered checking as it cut off as soon as the answering m/c cut in.
Second day in a row and yesterday's one was a Manchester number.
The crew on the late ferry last night get praise again for waiting as the late bus from Glasgow had been delayed.
On one occasion in the past it was announced that the sailing would wait for a blue light ambulance blasting down the road. We could hear it coming but a tour guide complained bitterly that his charges would be late for their dinner in Oban. He never came back here again for his own safety.
Post Office are appealing for the owner of a probably touroid car blocking their parking so no post today unless it gets shifted.
I had to go out yesterday and ask reasonably politely new holiday house tenants to shift to allow my plumber to get parked.
They have a perfectly good parking area at the front of the house but are too idle to use it as they have to carry luggage another 10 yards.
Library ay today.

We get that here too. A new set of pedestrian lights installed last summer and motorists are constantly moaning about the delays caused by the lights. They must be in a real hurry to sit in the queue at the roundabout 100 yards further up the road!

When the new cinema was built on the ring road, a pedestrian crossing was put outside it, just after a slight corner in the road. It's not a blind corner or anywhere close to being one, just a slight curve. They ended up having to move the crossing because people kept coming around the corner and rear-ending cars waiting at the lights. Whatever happened to drive at a speed where you can stop in the space you can see to be clear?

Not sure where this would fit but I would not like to be standing at the front. Taken a long while ago at Castlebay.😳

You been reading our local council's new road safety plan ? You've basically summed it up.
