Spent a very pleasant couple of hours dead heading all the Buddlia bushes in the sunshine at the cat sanctuary I volunteer at.
Out in the sticks with no more sound than skylarks and the occasional male pheasant.
But I've now been 'tasked' into a bit of reshaping of the larger two of said bushes, so I'll need to get the stepladder out - !

Early start this morning... Just before 02:00 (!) to drive to Hathersage for a walk up Stanage Edge ti Hugh Neb trig point to watch the sunrise 🌄
Back to the car on 12 miles for a pedal on the Brommie before a swim at the Open Air pool.. ❄️

It's been a mostly sunny and rather mild day here chez Casa Reynard. A cool start early doors and now it's clouded over.

Slept reasonably well. Had a gentle choresy morning, puttering about doing assorted bits and pieces. I also sneaked a nice sit down in the sunshine with Madam Lexi. I saw a brimstone butterfly and noticed that some of my crocuses have actually survived - the squirrels are bar stewards when it comes to digging up the corms and eating them. The flowers are all purple, so I wonder if colour might have something to do with it.

Had a lovely luncheon of wholemeal toast, the last of the corned beef, camembert, the last of the cranberry sauce that was in the fridge, some fruit (including a very lovely red orange) and a :cuppa:

A kitchen afternoon today, and I am now the proud owner of a lovely home made pate. :hungry:

Now sat by the fire with a :cuppa:

I'm tired just reading it
Haven't been to Hathersage for 50 or more years.

It probably hasn't changed much (apart from the shops selling hiking etc gear.. 👍

well that was horrible. I didnt really know anyone there apart from my uncle and my step mum , step mum actively avoided me and i got a look like she was disgusted i was even there .
mrs ck is shouting at me at she has got a chip on her shoulder for god knows what reason and mini ck 1 is being an entitled brat as usual.

awww, sorry to hear that. you did a good thing by going :hugs:

I have sort of destroyed my knee insulating part of the loft yesterday - could barely get downstairs this morning, still got about 60 mile to do on the bike this week, absolute disaster

been icing it up all day, walking still painful, but tried the bike, just ¼ of a mile, and it wasn't horrendous - hopefully get a few mile in the morrow, I know a very flat 9 mile loop, may be that !
Im still going to be behind target this week  my 130 mile lead will be decimated
