Usual DIY fix annoyance this morning. Reading the comments by @Reynard yesterday reminded me the light in the bike shed needed fixing. Transpired that it was a loose wire or two in the switch and undoing it's cover one of the decorative screw covers (does it really need them) vanished into the depths of the shed and then one of the bolts did the same. So it's gone back together one bolt less and two of the covers less as another went walkies whilst effecting the repair. No doubt they will reappear at a future date when I have forgot where they belong.
Now awaiting whilst the wind howls a bit too much outside a surprise Sunday DPD delivery of a new monitor ordered on Friday night post free.

On the train from Stuttgart to Karlsruhe. After a weekend involving a dance recital from Beautiful Daughter. The train is on time and the w-lan works. Bog's out of order though. I think they put the notice on the door in the factory.

Nipped up the headset on the commuter, in a hope it stays tight enough until a replacement arrives (see fettling thread). Did a fair bit of cooking yesterday, meatballs and spagetti in the oven and hungarian goolash slow cooked on the hob. That will see us through at least 4 evening meals !

MIL's house will be exchanged in two weeks. The down side is we've got a stack of stuff at our house that needs sorting and shredding. A slow process. My wife has also brought over 40 decorative 400x400 paving stones that were taken up some years ago - I know where she want's to put them but I've said I'm not digging the side garden down a foot deep to extend and replace the existing path - the grass is higher than the path by a considerable amount, but the soil doesn't move as there is a fair amount of building rubble under the turf - it drains well though !

pretty mild yesterday got in approx. 20 miles on a regular rail-trail

Yet another grey, cold and uninspiring day in this corner of Suffolk. At least it was dry enough for the first ride this year on a mudguard free bike without needing to clean it afterwards.

While I was out another year and a half's supply of Vitamin D tablets were delivered.

Mudguard free ! Whooooooo 😁

Wind was / is cold here in Sunny Lowestoft too.

Monitor arrived. Fixed to its stand cabled up and left to warm to room temperature before switching on. Looked out of the front window and a totally different DPD van at a neighbours! Maybe they need to do some rationalisation.

I was waiting on a delivery and saw the DPD van drive past the house ( the app showed that I was the next delivery) . I was wondering what was going on, then a large transit sized DPD van turned up with my parcel. I mentioned it to the driver and he said there was a local fleet of smaller all electric vans that they used for some of the deliveries.
