Good morning from a 2nd floor hotel room in grey and drizzly Harrogate. Today's view from the room is the elevated smoking/outside rest area/fire escape for what Google tells me is a law firm.

Homeward bound in a little while, after the usual post breakfast rest. Going the long way via London and will make the decision later as to either walk directly from Kings Cross to Liverpool Street station or stop at the Euston Tap and get the tube.

He's actually at the game.
Thankfully not shown on the bit of coverage I saw.
Lined up, one pile, geometrically arranged? Do you have a protractor and ruler? Quite essential for proper arranging.
How do you manage with all those different sizes of bottles sitting around randomly on shelves behind the bar?
And people! They insist on arranging themselves randomly and I tidily about the place.
Everything else I can put up with as they are all random things. It's the stacking of a pile of identical items in a random order that annoys me.

Back to the hospital for a check-up by the medic. I'm expecting to be shifted to the rehab people and stay on monitoring.

Finger's looking like a sort-of finger, although still swollen, but the nail probably needs monitoring as it re-grows.

No hand strength yet so no outdoor cycling; I can now shift gears up AND down but can't press the brake lever hard. If I fall right I'd probably take the re-attached finger off as well.

Oh dear I missed what happened?

Seven weeks ago I chopped my right-hand index finger off and crushed the chopped bit, including tearing the nail off - https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/mundane-news.209575/post-7329346 - the surgeon re-built it from what they could salvage. It now looks like most of a finger plus a re-growing nail. And yes @classic33 the old nail, or what's left of the nail bed, is starting to come loose as the new one re-grows.

Hospital visit done and, although I'm still with the medic, they've cleared me to ride my bike outdoors. VERY CAREFULLY !!! Cue the purchase of a pair of XL padded gloves as the worry is - should I come off - I could take the re-attached and re-built finger off and the finger's still swollen. Their worry is that vibrations could also cause issues, so it'll be smooth short rides at first to see what happens.

Didn't have that issue as the entire nail was removed in the A&E. First nail that grew back later parted company with the digit it was growing on.

Here's for a nail that feels like it wants to hang around for you.

I'm looking forward to seeing some hyacinths.

I would prefer a bowl of profiteroles.

@DCLane
When I had my left thumb nail removed, it took a long time, perhaps six months for the nail to look "normal". The first one to grow back was successful. Nerves were removed from the thumb, but it now has normal movement, but as not strong as before.

My phone weather app has given up predicting the weather and has gone on to using phrases like ''wintry mix.'' But I can confirm that it's horrible out there: wet, grey, cold and windy. We're trapped in an inhospitabubble.

Load of tractors sounding lots of illegal (and very loud) horns snailing their way along the A2 towards Elephant and Castle as I went out.
