Good morning from Suffolk where the early frost has lifted and the bright sunshine has been replaced with grey cloud. Coffee has been had.
With the rain and strong winds forecast for mid afternoon onwards, I think a walk to Felixstowe will be had later this morning as today's exercise followed by an afternoon of radio and reading.

Grandson has a cup football match early this afternoon. If they win, they're in the 1/4 finals. Unfortunately, the rain is forecast to set in just before kick off. BBC Met says heavy rain, random Google app says moderate. If I average out the two predictions, I come up with wet. Waterproofs will be in evidence on the sidelines.

The team's not on form; the team they beat 11-0 away early on the season managed to come away with 6-1 after last week's home fixture.

Dull and chilly - has crept upto 3. Bread made whilst Asda and Waitrose were shopped by car; yet again cheap milk and cottage pie from the latter and the free instore newspaper was finally available this year; also selected Green & Blacks Organic chocolate bars were £2. Rain due to set in by 1 apparently.

I am losing track of the zeros in this calculation.

If a house in central London sells for £140 million, stamp duty should be approximate £23 million. There is helpful website to work this out, assuming this a "second" home.

If you are trying to find £20 billion, I am correct in thinking you need to find another one thousand homes selling at that price? For my purposes I have rounded down the £23 million to £20 million, as that is easier to work out on the back of an envelope.

Couple of hours riding this morning before the rain blew in. Ice at side of road.

Don't know if I timed things just right or simply got lucky but I got home from the walk, put the kettle on and that's when the rain started. Cold, overcast and very windy on the walk, plenty of people wrapped against the weather up on Felixstowe prom and many more enjoying the warmth of the various cafes & restaurants that I passed.

It's been a grey, cold and very blustery day here chez Casa Reynard, with the odd sporadic rain shower.

Slept well, and slept in. Woke up with Madam Lexi curled up next to me on the pillow. She didn't bite my nose this time. Even though it's been pretty vile outside, I did cut up some firewood for logs in order to top up the log bin in the garage. Tomorrow's forecast is looking even worse, and Wednesday sees me otherwise occupied, so opportunities to do logs are somewhat limited in the upcoming few days.

Internet has been doing the hokey cokey in this gale, but it's been much better this last half hour or so. Tomorrow it looking ropey in that respect, but the wind is due to switch from a south-easterly to a westerly which may make something of a difference.

Lovely luncheon was had - a sandwich made with the last of the roast lamb (which I'd warmed up), some fruit and a :cuppa:

Now sat by the fire, writing and listening to the football on the radio.
