Hardware shop sold out of torch batteries, candles, gas cannisters and lamp oil.

The good news is that power has been restored.

Sunny morning and a Co-Op trek surprisingly revealed no fallen trees nor branches. The weeks vouchers used on a bag of oranges and beef hotpots. As fared some time back their bars of chocolate have gone up price but nearly a third increase is a bit OTT - from £2.10 to £2.75.
Then car into town. their was a Sparks offer of 20% off shoes and my current best black ones are a bit tatty. As I have pretty flat ended toes pointy ended shoes either do not fit or if they do they are so long they are a trip hazard by themeselves. So the choice was limited to a pair of slip ons. At the till I tried to use the remaining £13 on a One 4 All card but it was declined. These can be awkard commented the assistant.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
good nights sleep last night so today i have fixed the fence panel and i am now second coating the paint in the lounge which i a have avoided doing all week .
In other news i am off to see the emergency dentist later as i have had a niggly ache in the jaw all week that’s getting worse and of course my dentist is shut and if you try to book online its mid march ! I dont have any lower molars due to problems with wisdom teeth and if i lose this tooth i guess i will need dentures.

It's a mild and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, though it is clouding over.

Did not sleep well. Was woken up by a cat biting my nose and hissing at me. And then washing my face by way of apology. Some chores done this morning, but I am keeping myself quiet. Currently sat listening to Wolves v Arsenal.

Lovely luncheon of toast, the last of the smoked salmon mousse, some beautifully ripe brie, fruit and a :cuppa:

I do have to go to Tesco later, as I am very much in need of bread, milk, butter and eggs.

Spell of rain just after midday before which predictably the car had been washed, and after which an Aldi trek. The sight of a HGV confirmed the A59 westward had reopened.
Then started on clearing the partly split branch of the neighbours overgrown hedge tree only to find only wholly broken off branch underneath, which was instead chopped up. Apparently someone is coming on Tuesday to cut things back.
