The GLW has found an 'area 2' dvd of the 1973 film 'Godspell', my favorite musical. ^_^
Looking forward to another enjoyable evenings watching sometime soon. :okay:

It's been a largely sunny but very blustery day here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not sleep terribly well, and have been feeling rather meh and :cold: today. We were without power from 4am through to 11am, so the storage heaters aren't running anywhere near where they should be in terms of output. Have had to put the oil radiators on as a stop gap. The fire also went out during the night, but will get that lit in a little while, after I get back from a friend's place.

I am popping round to hers shortly to see if her PC can read the CD of photos that someone sent me. I have two laptops, but only the older Sony has a DVD drive, and it keeps insisting that the CD is blank and unformatted. Now I don't know whether that's my laptop that's the problem, whether it's the brand of CD that is an issue (it's a problem I've encountered before, that some CD drives don't like certain brands of CD or DVD), or whether the person who sent me the CD in the first place has screwed up some.

Due to the gales, I had no internet for much of the day thanks to (probably) shorting out cables somewhere nearby. But now that the wind has dropped, I'm back online.

I have spent the day tucked up in a fleece throw with a hot water bottle and doing some writing.

I've been out for a long walk. A pleasant, fresh evening now with the odd sprinkling of hail. A lot of fence panels, slates, corrugated iron, bins, gutters, assorted signs and trees have lost the fight with the wind.

There is a couple of tiles missing from the corner of my roof too, which means I'll have to speak to my lunatic builder again.

An awful lot of trees were damaged in the park.

Still no power on this side of the river but they seem to have power in the main street. Sitting here by gas light. It's not really bright enough to read by. I might go to the burger place in the main street in a bit for something to eat as rummaging around in a dark kitchen and trying to cook something with the camping stove holds little appeal. If there's a fire lit in the pub, I might go in there too to get warmed up a bit.

Foray to friend's place to get the data off the CD was successful. She has a desktop, which felt really weird, as I've been using laptops pretty well much exclusively for the last 27 years. Using a mouse felt weird and I kept reaching for a touchpad that wasn't there! But I how have another bunch of photos that need to be edited, catalogued and finally, turned into prints.

Also had some good kitty and doggy cuddles. Madam Elvira was determined to furkle through the contents of my handbag. (What is it with cats and handbags, but the packet of chicken dreamies might've had something to do with it LOL)

I've just had a nice bowl of curried parsnip & potato soup.
