Oh dear Cassie... Mend quickly, sweetpea xxx

+1 for the doggy boots, although a plastic bag would work well if paired with duck tape. Less easy for Madam to remove.

Vet suggested poo bags, taped. However the ones I usually use wore through within minutes. Others last a while & I've been using velcro cable ties, which hold them in place quite well, although this morning the bag was blowing across the lawn!

The best fried bread is made with szmalec - lard that's been flavoured with minced bacon, caramelized onions, garlic, oregano, salt and lots of black pepper. :hungry:

I get told off when I use the dripping from the pork joint for my Bovril on bread.

In the northwest. Pretty bad here now, I believe the worst is supposed to be around 9 or 10 according to the forecast.

I don't see it as something to get excited about. It has the potential to do serious damage to property and even life. I can't wait for it to be over.

I realise it's down the coast from you, but hope you stay safe.

Just another 53 minutes of the red warning left. The winds have already dropped quite a bit. I might venture out on for a walk shortly.

I gave up on work as I wasn't particularly busy anyway, my laptop battery was starting to die, my Internet is painfully slow and temperamental, and I was the only one of my team still online anyway. Text message sent to my temporary supervisor.

Tin of Mrs. Baxter"s finest Scotch Broth heated up on my camping stove and consumed with wheaten bread.

I could be a very long time without power, considering how many are out.

I wouldn't mind so much but the fire alarm system beeps constantly to state the obvious and drives me nuts.

I know that I'm not with it today but I couldn't understand what they were talking about on the TV news when they were talking about a Hair Loss drug. Why would people want to lose hair? Perhaps they were too hairy?
It turns out it was to help restore hair.
But there is no consistency! You can get shampoo for greasy hair or creams for dry skin!

I've been stood down. Doctor suspects dad did have a minor TIA but the blood clot has passed through so no immediate hospitalisation required - just an appointment at the TIA clinic.

While waiting for an update I swapped the stem on one bike and the handlebars and bar tape on another. The kitchen floor has been steam mopped and a coffee and toast have just been had for lunch. I may continue the domestics with the vacuuming while the floor dries and possibly then have a quick test ride as the wind appears to be easing.
